OTHER GAMES

I’ve been a Charger’s fan for a while. This team and management has a highly predictable history of choking. It’s what they do, year after year.

But congrats to Jacksonville.

Sark probably did make the call, but it was the logical choice. We had not stopped White on that play all day

LenDale White up to that point when getting the ball with less than 4 yards to go to the endzone or line to gain:

1st & Goal: 4 yds, TD
3rd & 1: 9 yds
2nd & 3: 7 yds
1st & Goal: 3 yds, TD
4th & 1: 12 yds, TD
2nd & 3: 8 yds
3rd & 2: 15 yds

7 for 7 on making the necessary yardage, and it's not like these were close calls. Every single time he could, he gained several extra yards beyond the minimum needed (the other two times, he reached the endzone and couldn't gain any more yards). I think 6 of these 7 were straight up the gut, too, though I haven't rewatched to look for that specifically and this data is just from the play-by-play.

Just about everyone I was watching with at the time figured "If we get the ball back, we're gonna drive down and win". We were all hoping USC would punt, or failing that, hoping they'd at least try something other than ramming LenDale right up the middle again.

Agree with all this, however, White was completely gassed by this point in the game. In fact the play prior he fumbled for the first time of the year. That’s what happens when two teams have been going balls to the wall for the whole game. Regardless, if it were my call, I’d have gone with the workhorse on that play too. Our guys made the play and theirs didn’t.:hookem:

another good playoff game so far. Underdog Miami with 3rd string QB has come back from 17-0 deficit to lead 24-20 early in the third quarter as a result of Buffalo miscues. . . . Buffalo woke up and leads by 10 now, still in the third quarter. . . .Miami did not cave, though. TD drive brings them back to within 3 with plenty of time left in the fourth. . . . Miami is going to come up short. I have never seen a team have so many problems getting the snap off in time in a single half.

Figured NYG would win. Minnesota hasn't looked great down the stretch, and I don't know how anyone could possibly bet on Kirk Cousins.

I fully expect Dallas to lose tomorrow and Cincy to hold on tonight.

Conference semis:
NYG @ PHI
TB @ SF
CIN @ BUF
JAX @ KC

Picks for CCGs:
SF @ PHI
CIN @ KC

Super Bowl:
SF vs. KC, rematch of the Miami one right before Covid hit.

The Cowboys are 35-29 all time in the playoffs but 4-11 since their last Super Bowl in 1995. As long as the Jones family owns this team I will predict a loss anytime they actually make the playoffs. It's just history and for this year this team has looked pretty mediocre the last few games.

TB 17
Pokes 14

The Cowboys are stumbling into the playoffs and Dak looks like he's always looked: average. Heck, "average" would have been an improvement for him in the Washington and Tennessee games.

Even in Brady's "bad" years, he still doesn't look like a fish out of water in the playoffs. Couple that with the Cowboys having basically no NFL starters at CB, and teams scheming Parsons right out of the game, and we're ripe for another playoff loss.

thanks for the cheery post

Tom Brady has won More play off games that the Cowboys in their history.
I hate that
I respect Brady. Never seen anything "douches " about him
But I want the Boys to win tonight.
Go Cowboys!

I miss the days when Don Meredith, Frank Gifford, and Howard Cosell were in the booth for MNF. So much fun when a bunch of us would watch together, and several times during the evening we would yell out in unison, “Oh, shut up, Howard!!!”
