OTHER GAMES

Went to dirtburglers.com for some Sooner misery but had to stop. The sheer stupidity and vile raging was making me embarrassed to be human. Makes even surly shaggy whatever it's called now seem like a restful sanctum of rational thought and tranquility.

Will OK be our easiest chance for a victory?

Talked to an OU fan today. She was at the game and shocked how bad they were against TCU. TCU!

Her daughter runs track for Kansas. Got a partial offer from Texas and full ride from Kansas. I saw this with friends of my son in Boy Scouts. Merit Scholars getting a Partial offer from Texas and Full rides from Arkansas, OU and Tech. Can someone explain this?

The only way to explain college admission logic requires ingesting peyote and LSD.

Georgia up 26-22 and just picked up a 1st down with 2 mins to go. Missouri running out of timeouts.

Texas gets plenty of talent, thus less need to offer $$. Other schools get the scraps from Texas.

I get it, but I think "scraps" is a little harsh. These young men became Eagle Scouts, not an easy endeavor. Plus, they were National Merit Scholars, born and raised in this state. I get it that Texas gets to pick and choose, but OU, A&M, Arkansas, etc. got those 'scraps". Still annoys me.

I don’t disagree, but in the current political climate they are scraps that can be discarded. Don’t want to venture into West Mall territory. The sooner they figure this out the better.

MC, don't take my reply as directed at you at but the administration in Austin. BTW, I have stayed in touch some of those young men and they have done well and prospered.

This is a direct quote, face to face with someone very high in our administration when I queried about a young lady with 1300+ on SAT and third in her class of 400:

"Wrong color, wrong last name"

As for National Merit Scholars, some public Ivies refuse to accept that money. I don't know why. UVA is a "Public Ivy" and has not accepted National Merit Scholars $$$ for well over 35 years.
