OTHER GAMES

Ah screw it.

Y’all are probably right about Georgia still making it to the playoffs.

But after tonight, they sure don’t deserve it.

OSU didn’t deserve to win. Very piss poor play calling to get that TD. Not once a qb sneak when they had a gap in the dline. Bad bad calling.

The more I think about it, the less iI understand why even 1 of the 4th plays wasn't a called Sanders run.

Bryce Young making a late season push for the Heisman if there are still some outstanding ballots. And with some voting based on what have you done lately...accounting for 300 yards or so in a half against a top ranked team to go with three scores...makes some eyes open.

Yep. It's about narrative, groupthink, and most celebrated player not necessarily single most outstanding.

Guy plays QB for one of the right schools. Has the best talent and best coach. Defense is good so the team record can be good. Plays well most of the year but rarely looks elite, then has his best game in the final week which counts like 3x while nobody else jumps out at a cursory glance. Equals auto-win.

What happened to Georgia's 85 Bears defense? Aggy could beat this team. The SEC East sucks apparently.

The East has sucked for the past decade. They get to play 6 East teams and only 2 West teams each year, which helps mask it.

I’d like to see Bama vs someone other than Georgia in the first round. Neither Cincinnati nor Michigan will be easy to beat. Anyone of them could win it this year.
Though we will be joining the SEC, I would hate to see Georgia play Bama in the national championship game. I have been completely tired of the SEC narrative for years and if both teams in the national championship come from the SEC, I can only see that narrative getting worse. So I really hope Georgia and Bama play each other in round 1

I think it will be GA over MI & Bama close over Cincinnati.

Unfortunately I anticipate a rematch in the championship game, and Bama just might not prevail.

The team I want to see spanked is Michigan. Cannot stand Harbaugh.

If Cincinnati was in the SEC or Big 10 they would be 9-3 at best

Based on what I saw this weekend Utah should get the fourth spot

anybody but ND.
OSU blew that for us..
ND...so boring...
I honestly doubt I will watch any of the playoff.
This final 4 was my worst case scenario for watchability. I'll hope UM or Cincy win...but Bama looked like Bama last night.
People say defense wins championships..
We just saw two supposedly good defenses get pretty wrecked last night by talented offensive players and scheme.(though in fairness UGAs defense played a muuch better 2nd half...and maay have figured something out if they meet again)
Georgia and UM should be a real good game. I may watch a little of that.

Just as a few years back when Utah started pulling New Years 'upsets,' they again exposed the flaws in the ranking. Oregon was over-ranked because they beat Ohio State. But Utah kicked the ever-loving crap out of them not once, but TWICE...

Unfortunately, that gets lost in the equation this year since Michigan kicked the crap out of OSU as well, keeping them out of the playoff mix.

Sadly, these conference championship games are the only time most of the pollsters even see some of these programs.

I hope all SEC teams, not only do the Horns down, but also chant SEC, SEC, SEC at our games.

I didn’t see the game, but Pickett and Pitt dominated Wake Forest. Hartman threw several INTs for Wake. I’ve seen several Pitt games, and Pickett is an excellent college QB and should get serious consideration for the Heisman.

The champion of the ACC:

:pitt:

As far as the club of hot coaches others may try to poach over the next few years goes:
Enter Pat Narduzzi.
Caveat—Better see how he does without Pickett though…

They need to make that fake qb slide illegal. Either that or stop calling bogus 15 yard penalties when a quarterback does slide and someone ends up hitting him unavoidably.

Bucs leading by 10 with the ball inside their own 10 with about 25 seconds left until the half. So, you just run out the clock right? Nope, Brady backs up into the end zone and throws a short pass to the left which is intercepted inside the 5 by a Falcons defender who trots into the end zone. My vote for dumbest play call of the day so far.

Agree. Removing the rule means qb’s can stop 1-2 yards earlier if they want to avoid contact.

This! I saw it last night in one of the games and the QB ran for something like 15 more yards. The rule needs to be something like "if the QB makes a move toward sliding....he is down..." The purpose of the slide rule is that he is voluntarily giving himself up for protection. The defense has been trained to immediately lay off once the QB starts his slide. Can't fake it then take advantage of what was supposed to protect you. Honestly I'm surprised I haven't seen this before now.
