Well, phooey! Army stops the 4th down throw into the end zone and beats my Falcons 21-14 in OT. Very close game, lots of hard hitting by both teams. Army should wipe out Navy pretty easily to win the C-i-C trophy (again).
Oh, well...maybe next year.
My son and I were at the game. They retracted the roof for the F-35 and Chinook fly-overs.
One of the AF players is named Brandon. After he made a nice play in the 3rd quarter, THE chant started.
Mark Milley was there to swear in new Army and Air Force recruits. He told them they would be judged on their character and not their skin color. Interesting coming from him.
Back to the game.
I highly recommend going if you can. It will be in Arlington again next year. Good, enthusiastic crowd but not sold out. As the cameras panned the crowd they landed on a guy with a Navy shirt. He got booed but took it in stride. Nothing personal meant. They honored 6 CMOH recipients before the game which was very nice to see.
Edit: We sat behind the AF QB's family. I think he made two pass attempts in the first HALF. Both incomplete, then picked it up in the second half.
I know that Army and Navy stand for each others Alma Mater and it was good it see it done here as well. Not just the players, but the fans also stood. Respect.
