FINAL
Univ of Arizona - 10
California - 3

U of AZ finally broke their losing streak of 20 straight with the win today. They are now 1-8 on the season.

It’s just a bad college football season for Longhorn fans. We suck. Our arch rivals are kicking butt. Seems to get worse every week.
Just be glad we are not playing SEC yet. We are not SEC ready,or BIg 12 ready or Acc ready etc etc etc

Miss St got screwed with a bogus penalty in 4th down for Arky, who didn't convert the 4th down but got the 1st down with the penalty. I hate when refs decide the game on questionable penalties.

Some of you know our son is in the Purdue band and as crazy as it sounds we have season tickets to both the Horns and Purdue. I gotta tell you, the gameday atmosphere in West Lafayette is fantastic. Purdue threw for over 500 yards today and dominated #3 Michigan St just like they did Iowa earlier in the year. David Bell is awesome, had 11 catches for 217 yds. Bowl eligible now at 6-3 with Northwestern, Ohio St and rivalry vs Indiana left.

Glad I didn't make the drive to Ames. But flying to Austin next week to see what happens against the Jayhawks.

Wait...a team is allowed to have more than 250 yards in a game...I mean TOTAL yards? Has anyone informed Sark?

Could ou have had ANY easier schedule set up..especially for a year theyve struggled a little and now to break in a new qb??

Looks tailor made...
Me thinks they have at least 2 losses with just about any other schedule arrangement this year.

(That would give them nearly half of our total)

Maybe. Or maybe reality sets in shortly.

Colt McCoy is 18-22, 229 YDS, 1 TD, despite not having DeAndre Hopkins or A. J. Green available, as Arizona leads San Francisco 31-14 in the middle of the 4th.

Devin Duvernay had a great TD catch in the Ravens' win (sealed by a kick from Justin Tucker, of course) where he reached out with one hand to tip the pass to himself.

I thought that Foreman looked very good. In fact, this was somewhat of a banner day for former Texas players:

Colt very effective.

Duvernay great TD catch.

Okafor blocked FG

Hicks recovers 2 fumbles.

Tucker game winner.

I believe Colt finished 22 of 26 for 249 plus somewhere around 20-30 yards rushing. Not flashy, but then again, none of his time in the pros has involved flash. What he DOES and does very well is manage a game and keep his team IN the game.

And, a bunch of short passes ALSO keep the clock running...so aside from a receiver going out of bounces, 22 of 26 means he kept the clock running all but four of those plays. That helps keep a potentially explosive team off the field...and SF had their chances on several drives before imploding.

UNC at Pitt tonight.

Mack's Tarheels, coming off a high-scoring upset of Wake F, will take on Pitt in Pittsburgh tonight. There will be some good QB play, with Pitt's Pickett one of the overall best in the game. The same could be said of UNC's Sam Howell. Look for lots of points. I'm thinking Pitt. Pickett finds ways to win. He can run, he can pass, and boy can he scramble. He's like Sam but a much better thrower.

Matchup to watch: How Pitt copes with North Carolina QB Sam Howell's ... running ability?

Pitt scores first, as the announcer put it, by a combined effort in all three phases. Pitt defense stopped NC drive; Pitt special teams got a good return; and Pitt offense took it the rest of the way. . . . Pitt holds Mack again and then storms down the field and is threatening to score another TD. . . .Pitt scores 14-0

Ravens open game with 19 yard gain on jet sweep by Duvernay. . .Tucker hits 46 yard FG at the end of that drive. . . .Announcer just said Duvernay leads the league in punt return average. . . .Duvernay starts next possession catching swing pass for 11 yards and a first down. , , , Tucker misses 48 yard FG . . . Teams tied 3-3 getting near half time.

Michigan at Penn State - the Wolverines bounce back for a big win over Baylor’s ethical twin.

U Conn at Clemson - :rolleyes1:

Cuse v Louisville

Rutgers at Indiana - Hoosiers look to stop a five game losing streak against a lower end B1G opponent.

Bucknell at Army - The Caissons roll right over Bucknell leaving tracks on their backside.

Miss St at AU - go Pirates.

NW at Wisconsin - some smart kids beat each other up, up North.

UCF at SMU - UCF has had SMU’s number.

OU v Baylor - could be a barn burner.

WV at KSU - the Cats are now 6-3 and are creeping back into the realm of respectability.

New Mexico State v Alabama - Tide plays some aggies they can beat.

Purdue at aOSU - possible trap game.

Minnesota at Iowa - the winner gets a pig statue. No, really!

Georgia at Tennessee - smashing down South

Miami at FSU - an old grudge match.

ISU at Texas Tech - tough game for Tech

Maryland at Mich St - Spartans get back on track in a big way.

So Carolina at Missou

ND at UVA - Irish

NC State at Wake F — tough game for Wake

Air Force at Colorado State - the Falcons soar over the Front Range today.

aTm at Ole Miss - watch out aggies. Lane has a team that can light up the scoreboard—even against good Ds.

Kentucky at Vanderbilt

TCU at Oklahoma State - trouble for the Frogs

ASU at Washington - the dog days are over.

Arkansas at LSU - pigs

Wash State at Oregon - Ducks

Cuse v Louisville

Wait..I know basketball season started, but these are Round of 32 and Sweet 16 matchups.

NW at Wisconsin - some smart kids beat each other up, up North.

Wisky will be crapping purple for a week

OU v Baylor - could be a barn burner.
A barn will be burned but it includes any hopes the land thieves have of making the playoff...or even the Big12 championship game.

New Mexico State v Alabama - Tide plays some aggies they can beat.
The Scholarship Bowl...this allows the respectable kind of aggies to give them out.

Purdue at aOSU - possible trap game.
No possible to it...unless you meant trap for Purdue. Calling this one as Purdue by 7.

ISU at Texas Tech - tough game for Tech

Let them eat tortillas...so it is written, so it shall be thrown. They will whirl in the wind on their way down because, well...that is how cyclonic winds blow.

ND at UVA - Irish

NOT SO FAST my slap-chop friend...Touchdown Jesus isn't making the road trip. UVA by 11.

NC State at Wake F — tough game for Wake

Wake is just coming out of concussion protocol after last week when the Fighting Mack Browns slapped them around. NC State copies the moonshine recipe and serves a helping of the Demon upon the Deacons. Wake should have deeked and is instead down for the count...but they had a top-10 ranking, so there is that on the season.

aTm at Ole Miss - watch out aggies. Lane has a team that can light up the scoreboard—even against good Ds.
One way or another, this comes down to the final possession. Ebbs and flows will run through the game, including one team getting up by three scores somewhere.

Wash State at Oregon - Ducks
Yep. Vax mandates don't make up for the mid-season loss of a head coach and there is no known vax for a duck drubbing.

Mack Brown had to be heartbroke after the loss. The runner made it to the three yard line. First and goal to win the game and there was a sensless holding call. Someone explain to me how this can happen. In grammer school I played some offensive line. We had to have our fists touching used our bodies and elbows to block. What goes through a players mind to make them grab? Worse case is they suffer a small loss on the play. Risking 10 yard penalty with seconds left in the game is beyond my comprehension.

Good comments, mixed with some funny comedy. My kind of post!

Count me as generally impressed with Pitt this year—especially QB Pickett. While he won’t win the Heisman, he’s my favorite QB in the college game this year. A real scrappy gamer.
