And a terrific interception it was. Arizona receiver never looked for the ball; Packer defender had to tip it to himself. Nice way to secure the vistory on the road.

Did anyone grab a screenshot of Murray hobbling off the field after the end of the game? I swear he looked like he was crying ... we have seen that act before.

"According to one source familiar with the sequence, coach Kliff Kingsbury called for a pass play to the left, but quarterback Kyler Murray saw a more favorable matchup to the right, where veteran A.J. Green was one-on-one with journeyman cornerback Rasul Douglas. Murray then signaled for a back-shoulder fade to Green, but, the source said, Green did not see the change and failed to turn around while the ball was in the air, believing the pass was going to the other side of the formation." Short-handed Packers pull together, topple NFL's last unbeaten team in Arizona

The Headliner Game:

michigan-road-map.gif

#6 Michigan vs #8 Michigan State - Big Blue is undefeated and up to #6 in the rankings. They go into East Lansing to take on the toughest Spartan team in recent memory. Michigan State is tough and fundamentally sound. I've seen portions of 2-3 of their games, and they strike me as a very hard-hitting and good-tackling team. They've got the 2nd best RB in the nation with Kenneth Walker III, and some competent blockers up front. The Spartans love their ground game, and they will pound away unless and until they're stopped. Spartan QB Payton Thorne (has the name of a Yale, Haverford, or Princeton guy, huh...) is very capable if Big Blue stacks the box. Michigan State looks pretty darn good, and they have a big rowdy home field advantage over their hated rival.

But...there's a reason Harbaugh's Wolverines are #6 in the nation (other than history and name recognition...). Michigan's excellent ground game features 2 backs with roughly equal yards and carries--Corum and Haskins--and Big Blue leads the B1G in rushing. Michigan State's rushing D is good, so it's strength on strength. This may turn into a classic Big 10 black-and-blue, bruising, festival of carnage in the trenches. The trainers will be busy on Sunday, ... and Monday, ... and Tuesday ... Michigan QB McNamara is a bit streaky, but a very capable QB. Thus far, he's more of a competent bus driver than a race car driver at QB. Michigan's OL is good as well, with the fewest sacks allowed in the B1G and the most rushing yards in the B1G. State's pash rush is good.

This has the makings of an epic rivalry game.

Getting to know Michigan State

#9 Iowa at Wisconsin - Iowa bounces and takes down the Badgers at Camp Randall

Rutgers at Illinois - Another team Bielema can, and should, beat. Oskie Bow Wow Illinois.

Purdue at Nebraska - in most years you'd pencil in Nebraska. I wouldn't pencil in anyone for this game Saturday.

#20 Penn State at #5 aOSU - Buckeyes brutalize a mediocre Penn State squad at the Horseshoe.

ISU at WV - Campbell seems to have the Clones back on track as they take on the underperforming Mountaineers.

Tech at OU - If Colombi (or whoever they put back there) is on fire, Tech might make it close, sort of... We can hope.

TCU at KSU - the purple teams have underperformed this year. Someone has to win.

KU at #15 OSU - KU showed signs of life against OU. OSU plays up or down to the opponent's level. OSU wins, but not a big blow out.

#19 SMU at Houston - now here's a good game. Look for Dykes' Dallas boys to take down UH. Light up that scoreboard.

Washington State at ASU - WSU had little chance before they fired Rolovich, now they have an even slimmer chance.

Colorado at #7 Oregon - a strong O offense slaughters the Buffaloes like Wild Bill.

Arizona at USC - Trojans run over them.

UCLA at Utah - Two of the tougher, more physical teams in the PAC (stop that snickering!!!) battle in Salt Lake. UCLA comes out ahead.

Washington at Stanford - impossible to accurately predict this one.

Oregon State at Cal - ?

#1 Georgia v Florida - normally, this might be the headliner. UF is weak this year. Still, it's a big rivalry game at a neutral site, so they might make it interesting.

#10 Ole Miss at #18 Auburn - Lane Kiffin's O should torch AU's pretty good D. AU can't match the Rebels in firepower.

#12 Kentucky at Miss State - this is the sort of game the Pirate might pitch an upset in.

Miami at #17 Pitt - I know very little about this Pitt team, but they just took down Clemson and are slowly climbing up the rankings. Could be the best team in the ACC is a rather weak year. Although Wake Forest may have something to say about that. But Manny and his trademark stellar D :rolleyes1: stand in the way.

Duke at #13 Wake Forest - Butt whoopin in store for Duke. Duke plots their revenge, waiting eagerly for basketball season to arrive.

UNC at ND - ???

And Hutchinson is a phenomenal pass rusher for Big Blue. Keep an eye on him. College Game Day is in East Lansing. It just LOOKS really cold up there.

Miami with a pick and a 24-17 lead over #17 Pitt. Manny has improved his D.

Now Miami inside the 5.

Now Pitt’s D Line is holding up. Possible goalline stand. 3rd and goal from the one.

Woah!

Miami’s RB does one of those 1970s style high leaps/dives over the pile for the TD!

31-17 Miami over Pitt. Pitt fans are booing.

Pickett—Pitt’s QB—is one heck of a scrambler.

MSU coming back against Michigan. Down by 2 after long TD run and going for 2 . . . conversion looks good, maybe under review . . . all tied up. MSU has scored 2 TDs in a row, each with a 2 point conversion. 30 all . . . After Michigan makes a FG, MSU drives for a TD. 37-33 with about 5 minutes left. Kenneth Walker has 5 TDs on 20 carries for about 190 yards . . . .Michigan drives but turns it over on downs with 1:43 left. . . Michigan holds and will get the ball back with about 1:20 left and no timeouts on its own 34

That is one very good MSU team. They’ve still got to beat aOSU and Penn State, but if I had to put one team up to take on Georgia next week, it would be the Spartans.

Nice win by Mich State. Down big, came back and won. And horrid collapse by Michigan. Fumble at midfield with the lead, leading to the winning TD by. MSU, then loss of downs one possession and Int the next.

I'm telling you Caleb Williams is the real deal.
He is making play after play. He has the "it" in spades.
No doubt the heisman is in his future. Not this year of course.
Crap.
Doesn't bode well for Texas the next two years (or maybe one)
28-7 OK...4 td passes thus far

Spartans got some home field ref help there. The failed 4th down with 2 min to go, they blatantly grabbed jersey and held the Michigan player back to prevent what would have probably been a long gain.

Yes he is. And he will bet the help of crap like the pass interference call against Tech on an uncatchable ball that went out of bounds when it hit the receiver's hands. These Big 12 refs are criminals. I feel sorry for any team in the 12 that has to play thee guys the rest of the year.

Patterson has earned a lot of goodwill in Cowtown, but their expectations are much higher than before. His seat is warming up I think. Not too hot yet, but getting warmer.

Air Force vs Army - Nov 6th - Arlington, Tx - Any one going? As a present, my son bought tickets because I am an AF vet. Section 203 of Jerry World. If you are going and want to meet before, during or after the game, please let me know.

UT will not lose this game. I promise. :smile1:

uta,

HornHuskerDad is an Air Force fan, I believe went to the academy and is a vet. He lives in Arlington, so he will probably go.

Mack takes the lead over ND in the second half... . oops, ND retakes lead.

Ole Miss v Auburn is a good contest. Ole Miss just kicked FG to come within 8.

The Pirate is putting it to previously one loss number 12 Kentucky. MSU has the ball and a first down leading 31-17 with a minute and 20 seconds left. QB has completed 30 of last 31 passes.

Thanks SabreHorn. I know that HHD lives somewhere near me - we vote at the same place. Hopefully he and other HornFans will be there.

Guys, I'm going to pass on the USAFA/USMA game. My wife is still wearing her neck collar/brace from her surgery; it would be nearly impossible for her to sit for the entire game. Guess I'll watch on TV. I have heard that some of my classmates are coming in for the game; maybe we'll schedule something after the game.
BTW, I graduated in 1968. In the 53 years since, I've gone to five USAFA football games - they lost all five. Maybe it's better for the Falcons if I don't go in person! :)

OSU looked good against Penn State last night. I think they run the table and get to a playoff spot.

At this point, for the final 4, I'd have:

OSU
OU
Alabama if they win out and beat GA in the SEC game (but I don't see them going if they lose. They would be a 4 seed with 2 losses, and would play GA again in the first round, which is both pointless as they just played and they just lost, and bad for ratings).
GA if they win out of course, and probably if they lose in anything but a blowout to the Sec West team.

Maybe Cincy - don't know who else they play, but will need to avoid some upset loss as the lure of the playoffs fills their heads.
