OTHER GAMES

Did he not recover the fumble?
Don’t know. That was not addressed, or if it was, I missed it. Heupel was pissed, and cussing out the officials. “That’s BS.” Can’t blame him.

Few HCs have the stones to call out the officials for blatantly bad calls in their post game or next day pressers. I’ve rarely seen it. If I was making $5,000,000/yr. I’d like to think that I might find the courage, particularly if it cost my team a game. (This didn’t.)

Next week in Waco will tell us everything we need to know about this team.
Looking more and more we will finish 2-3. Sark is going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to avoid losses.
Can we do it? Yes
We are going to really and truly have to go all gas to win in spite of deficiencies.
If we lose, we need to show competitiveness for recruiting.
Thompson is going to have to play well with timely runs for first downs.
Its good okie state lost. We just got to take care of business.

Texas needs to show up with "hungry players", or Sark needs to take the name off the front of the jerseys. Hungry and smart. Take care of your assignment and trust the guy next to you. Any player that makes the same stupid mistake twice (particularly that costs us two TDs) gets his butt sat down until 5 AM, when he can memorize the rows in the lower deck from 1-78.

Agree with you and Pompoms. Let me add though that Baylor and ISU will be as much a test of Sark’s prowess as a play caller, as it will be a test of the performance, discipline and endurance of the team. While we can’t predict the unpredictable — what happens in the games, if Sark is as good as we hope, he will find a way to play call and scheme this offense to a four quarter effort, and two wins.

If not, well, there’s always next year and hopefully more beef and talent where we need it.

Not to be the Fight Song Lyric Police, but it's Oskie Wow Wow*

*although it causes me think that if Snoop Dogg ever did a cover of this song called Oskie Bow Wow, it would be awesome

It was my ha-ha tongue in cheek funny about their silly made-up-word. To me, it's Oskie Bow Wow!
:smile1:

I'll take "Oskie Wow Wow" over "Hullaballoo-caneck-caneck," "chigaroogarem," or "boola boola" (Yale) any old day.

Not to mention "Wooo, Pig Sooie" (Arkansas); "Hotty Toddy" (Ole Miss); and "Ski-U-Mah" (Minnesota)

What in the heck does "Chigaroogarem" mean?????? | TexAgs
Those are funny too, although I think "Hotty Toddy" is hot whiskey with honey, sugar, spices, cloves, etc. stirred up in it. Never heard "Ski-U-Mah" before, but I suppose ski (the cross country variety) is a word that would naturally be associated with Minnesota.

We beat all this stuff to a bloody pulp with our "Texas, Texas, Yee Haw!!!"

Back to the Kansas OU game and the fourth down play in which Williams pulled the ball away from Brooks and proceeded to get the first down. From what I am hearing, that play was definitely illegal. Because Williams pulled the ball away from Brooks, it was technically a fumble, not a handoff. A fumble cannot be advanced forward by the team originally possessing the ball. Basically the Holy Roller rule. While that applies in the NFL, I am assuming that it also has application in the NCAA. So the play should’ve been called dead as soon as Williams pulled the ball out…not an OU first down. So, Kansas’ ball.

The other question which has not yet been answered to my satisfaction is simply, if Brooks’ forward progress was stopped — which it clearly was (he was going backwards), why was the play not stopped? Does there have to be a whistle? And, is that reviewable?

So basically the inept or corrupt Big 12 officials got it wrong, intentionally or otherwise, probably twice.

Is anyone surprised?

Packers at Arizona tonight. Good game. Packers fans are just as loud as home crowd for Arizona. Packers fans must travel well.
