OTHER GAMES

Credit to anm i guess. Their defense was on the field the whole 2nd half damn near. The fact they found a way to win and we didn't is disappointing to say the least.

:confused2:
Their defense held bama on their last drive. Our defense did not.

Got to hand it to Callahan. He was the most hated man in Collieville last week. Now he’ll be a pain Aggy legend the rest if his life.
Yeah, Caldaza won the game on a bad knee. Also, texags claimed the kid can’t throw. He was throwing strikes on their last 2 drives. Never believe texags.

They’ve basically been a pretty solid team with lousy QB play. Think of us when Swoopes was our QB.

Not to beat a dead horse, but it needs to be said. Their defense showed some heart against the #1 team. Our defense laid down against a team that struggled vs Tulane, k state and wva. Things have to change FAST, if you love this program.

Bring back the flex?

And BYU’s dreams of going undefeated and crashing the playoffs come to an abrupt end. They’ll be drowning their sorrows in beer in Provo tonight.

Errrrrrrr…, maybe not…..

:byu:

I was very unimpressed by Alabama in general and Young in particular. He seemed like an interception or sack waiting to happen on almost every play. No vision. Unimpressive passes. The Aggies deserve credit for winning but this seems to be a very mediocre Alabama team, at least tonight. Their O-line looked like ours.

Texting back n forth with my brother. I've been a Horns fan since 63, him since 56. Neither of us can remember a bigger gap between our program and aggy's, when in favor of a$m. The later sherrill years were pretty bad for us, but I think the low point is right now. You can see a massive difference in OL, DL play. Right now they'd embarrass us

It's a critical topic. We're about to go to the sec with a very weak product defensively. In that league it'll get you embarrassed every single week. Things have to change quickly. I like most of what I see offensively, hoping sark makes a change on T+2 because delaying a great hire ensures us being embarrassed week after week when we move

Seeing some of the scores in the SEC this weekend, and last also, not so sure they are the defensive juggernaut that has been touted for years. That or the offenses have gotten better - same thing I would say.

Chargers trail Browns by one with a little more than a minute left in the game. Chargers driving near the goal line. Chargers running back gets the first down near the goal, then goes down in bounds on purpose so that the Chargers can run some more clock before they score, wanting to run the Browns out of time. On the next play, the running back runs up the middle and is trying to go down again to burn more clock but the Browns players surround him and pull him into their end zone for the TD so that the Browns can get the ball back with some time still on the clock. I've seen the defensive players let the offense score, but I've never seen them actually pull the offensive player into the end zone against his will. Pretty smart. (Browns lost anyway)

You might want to rethink that. We were pure crap in the late 80's, while aggy was consistently top 10. Nowadays aggy is better than us but they have lost 2 games this season too.

I'm talking in terms of talent. The gap wasn't bigger then, we went 10-2 in 1990 with that same bunch of kids.

In 88, anm was 7-5. 89 they were 8-4. Not that good. And those were horrible years for us for certain, but anm struggled big time then as well

Losing 2 games midway thru the season, aggy is going to be aggy. The bed will be **** upon.

Now Michigan is kneeling. What happened on Nebraska's last possession?

Nebraska got to the 50 then turned it over on downs after 4 straight incompletions.

The Huskers will continue to search for a signature win. Looking towards OSU or Iowa later in the year. We aren't winning but Nebraska has now given 3 Top 10 teams all they can handle. Hate moral victories but for the first time in ~10 years I feel Nebraska can hang schematically and talent wise with Top 20 teams. Each of the games were 1-2 plays away. Enjoying the process.

I rarely favor Nebraska, but I think I’ll root for them over the Buckeyes this year. Those interlopers have been cherry picking too much of the very top Texas talent.

Baylor is playing BYU this week??
They sure are. That will make for an interesting "holy war" of sorts. Unfortunately for future Big 12 member BYU, Baylor seems to have re-discovered their air raid offense of old. This one could be very entertaining.

It may take more than a lot of close games for Frost to hold off the pitchfork wielding mob. Isn’t his seat red hot?

10/16 - we've seen better weeks, but there's some pretty good games. Games of great interest (to me anyway...) are in bold.

UCF at 3 Cincinnati 12:00pm ABC: Cincy continues their drive to crash the playoffs.

Nebraska at Minnesota 12:00pm ESPN2: Possibly a team the downtrodden Huskers might actually beat.

10 Michigan State at Indiana 12:00pm FS1: This tough Spartan keep just keeps winning games and moving up the rankings. They have a real good WR, an exceptional RB Kenneth Walker III, and a good QB.

21 Texas A&M at Missouri 12:00pm SECN: The ags get a fairly easy opponent. Their impotent offense may still struggle.

20 Florida at LSU 12:00pm ESPN: More trouble for Big Ed and his Bayou Bengals.

Auburn at 17 Arkansas 12:00pm CBS: Bumper Pool and crew take on the Tigers of the Plains (sort of). Auburn's D is pretty good, but watch for the hogs to stuff the Tigers O.

Arizona at Colorado 3:30pm P12N: Colorado's awful offense might have a chance in this PAC bottom dwellers' pillow fight.

Purdue at 2 Iowa 3:30pm ABC: Super tough Iowa bests the Boilers by a few TD in a Big 10 rough-and-tumble bruising bloodbath.

Miami (FL) at North Carolina 3:30pm ACCN: Mack will somehow find a way to solve Manny's D. :rolleyes1:

11 Kentucky at 1 Georgia 3:30pm CBS: This unheralded Kentucky team is good. Probably not equal to the Top Dawgs though--especially not between the hedges. Could be an exciting game though, with an outside chance for an upset. Hard hitting smash up in the trenches. Aside from Georgia DT superstar Jordan Davis (BAMF), I don't expect Georgia to push them around too much up front. GA Heisman hopeful QB JT Daniels + Georgia's electrifying playmakers should make the difference. Georgia out-talents everyone this year, and that certainly includes Kentucky. Superior talent + a very good QB is tough to beat, especially at home.

19 BYU at Baylor 3:30pm ESPN: A rather bizarre holy war that this conference will have to get used to. Baylor's O is potent, and I'm not sure BYU merits their ranking. The game is in Waco. Toss up. Both sets of fans will try to preach to each other. Great sportsmanship will be exhibited, and no alcohol will be consumed. :rolleyes1: And the Nephites and Lamanites said: "Amen." :fire::fire::fire:

Vanderbilt at South Carolina 4:00pm SECN: the smart Southern kids vs the drunk Southern kids.

Texas Tech at Kansas 4:00pm ESPN: Wells gets the Raiders back on track against an atrocious opponent.

5 Alabama at Mississippi State 7:00pm ESPN: The Pirate pulls out all the stops, but its not enough to hold back the angry Tide coming off their upset loss to the ags. Alabama is angry and in revenge mode.

TCU at 4 Oklahoma 7:30pm ABC: Watch out. Patterson could make it interesting. He'll likely figure out how to stop OU's backup QB. Upset watch.

Stanford at Washington State 7:30pm ESPNU: Stanford.

13 Ole Miss at Tennessee 7:30pm SECN: Kiffin keeps the Rebs a rolling. This one has the makings of a fantastic tailgate party followed by a so-so game. Rebel QB Matt Corral will pad his stats.

Iowa State at Kansas State 7:30pm ESPN2: Two sort-of similar teams and programs. ISU's TE play action game and QB scrambling will be the difference. KSU=not good, but not bad, and always a potential upset.

Army at Wisconsin 8:00pm BTN: Kudos to Wisconsin for scheduling a service academy in the middle of the year. Army's option attack won't be easy to defend, but the Badgers have too many horses, and they're at home.

UCLA at Washington 8:30pm FOX: ??? home field advantage = the decider ???

18 Arizona State at Utah 10:00pm ESPN: I guess ASU ???

Hawaii at Nevada 10:30pm CBSSN: The Bows are breaking even at 3-3 after an impressive (for Hawaii) win over Fresno State. Here's another team the Bows can beat. Hawaii QB Cordeiro is averaging 288 yards passing per game--not up to the usual QB standard on the Islands, but not bad. When they play in Northern Nevada, it's good to do so before it gets real cold. Just for kicks, I'd like to see the Bows on the road at Michigan or U. of Buffalo in late November with a Siberian Express cold front blowing down from the North Pole and heavy snow clouds coming in off the Lakes. :smile1:

Auburn wins by 15 in Fayetteville. Arkansas isn't bad, but they aren't particularly good either. Certainly had no business blowing us out.

LSU 49, Florida 42 with 3:30 left.
