OTHER GAMES

The USAFA/USNA game was a bit too defensive, but the Falcons managed the W. Held Navy to 68 yards total offense - nice. Now if they can ramp it up an couple of notches on offense before playing Army.

I noticed that Mercer scored 14 on Alabama. Did Alabama tell Mercer if they won the coin toss that they would spot them 14?

I started college at SFA nearly 50 years ago, then transferred to UT. If Tech had lost to the Lumberjacks, they would never live that down. Never!

Wow, after Stanford gets pummeled by KSU last week they turn around and dismantle USC 42-28 yesterday.

ISU is not looking very good either. Struggled with Northern Iowa last week now lost to Iowa.

With USC laying an egg, it may be up to UCLA to challenge Oregon for the PAC title. I don’t think Utah can get it done. Oregon is looking really good.

That lefty QB that came in looked pretty good. Turnovers are what killed ISU and they certainly won't do that against Texas.

Tech 28-22
Sadly, that makes me worry about the Rice game...

Rice held piggy close for much of the game and then piggy blew up against us, meanwhile Rice lays an egg against the same UH team that Tech struggled with.

Maybe it just means over-reaction week for Texas is this week, while many schools had it last week.

True but those are usually brush fires, this is a raging California forest fire, that won't go away soon. A dousing from a win over OU, might contain and eliminate the fire, but not much else will.
No, it is the San Andres Fault opening-up from SoCal through NoCal (that would be a good thing, but you get the point).

Looks like USC didn't take the drubbing they received from Stanford lightly. Helton is gone.
Not just a drubbing by Stanford, but, by extension, a complete wood-shedding by Wheat Aggy. When you are in what, year Seven, it is clear he didn't meet standards. And, it seems like he has been on the hot seat much of the tenure.

Some of the other showings in the Pac12 probably hastened the door being shown...

Helton cannot say he wasn't given enough time to implement his program.

Two years ago I thought Helton would be gone, like for sure (as they’d say in Tarzana.) Yet he had a good year last year. USC’s President is an ultra “wokie”. Whomever is hired for the “permanent” job will likely have to toe her line and be content under her heel.

Why, maybe Briles is who they’ll hire…
:lmao:

Then again, if Bielema has a good year at U of I…
:lmao:

Fickell has the inside track with the Trojans' AD.
