On the bathroom issue

We took away the right to drink at 18, we also took away the ability to smoke and dip among other things. The logic behind these decisions is that kids under 21 can't make rational decisions. The teenage brain isn't fully developed and isn't ready to make life altering decisions. We have activists constantly trying to decrease criminal sentences for juveniles for exactly this reason. How can we now say that a decision of this magnitude is ok to make while they are a teenager? I believe we should find ways to help them accept and deal with their current situation but require them to wait until 21 to make such a huge decision.

As for sports, there will never be a good category for the in-betweens of either ilk. The only way I can see for them to ever be allowed to compete is to always compete 'up' in the boys category. If there's a girl transitioning to boy, they're taking steroids. If there's a boy transitioning to girl, they've likely got a much different physique and naturally occurring testosterone. Either way, they are getting Testerone that is an enhancer to muscle mass and endurance.

If a transgender individual wants to compete in sports, they should always have to do so in the boys category.

This quote sums up to me the activist mentality today: where the cults of self-actualization, individuality and narcissism all meet in one glorious quote:

"As one trans activist proclaimed during the meeting, “We are so amazing and we want to be acknowledged for who we are, as a community…we want our power to be acknowledged.”

Whoa. Yuck. Now if I can just get my head around the idea "Maybe I agree with Dan Patrick on this."

The dudes going into the girls bathroom dilemma is somewhat of a side issue. The main thing you need to do is stop reading the vitriolic political articles on the issue that are more concerned with pushing a fraudulent political narrative than with truth and reality and think about the bill with some objectivity. That's the real reason why you get this issue wrong.

The issue with someone citing transgendered bathroom laws in order to violate other laws (videotaping, assault, etc.) is that it's still illegal to violate the other laws. If some kid wanted extra time on the SAT, faked a disability, and cited IDEA, it's still illegal for them to assault someone during the SAT.

Yes, that is true, but the trans laws are what gave them access in the first place and exposed them to the danger. Furthermore, suppose they didn't assault or videotape. Is that really the determining factor? I don't think it is. What if the guy just wants to go in there and look? I think that's still a problem.

If some dude came to me and said, "Deez, I want to be in the shower room with your wife. I promise not to photograph her or touch her. In fact, you can search me to make sure I have no camera and can chain me to the wall to ensure that I can't touch her. I just want to admire her naked body and think dirty thoughts." Call me a bigot, but I'm still saying "No." Furthermore, I think my wife has an affirmative right not to have that guy there making her feel weird and exploited.

This, along with a "not with my daughter" sentiment is what I cannot understand being ignored by proponents to this nonsense.

It's the PC hierarchy at work. Women (especially white women) just aren't very high on it. They're higher than white men, of course, but they're miles below gays. And gays are miles below the alleged transgendered. Accordingly, their complaints are only going to be given credence if they're against white men.

Also "not with my daughter" promotes and perpetuates "the patriarchy." The PC crowd hates that.

I don't know all the situations but #1 is complete BS based on local reporting. Making no judgement on the other situations, #1 is without a doubt fake news.

It's often cited and twisted in conservative publications.

This is the first time I've heard it, so I'm no expert on it. However, it was reported by the local NBC affiliate. Link.

My bad...I got this confused with the earlier incident in Olympia, Washington, also a transgendered person using the swimming pool female changing area. I wasn't aware of this cited situation.

And I freely admit, the denigration of ones patriarchal rights is particularly perturbing.

Ditto. Are there men who abuse their patriarchal authority? Sure. However, for a regular guy, it's supposed to be about honoring and protecting the physically weak from violence and exploitation.

I am presuming #1 to be either the "Colleen" Francis case or something similar...and the Francis case was very much a real situation. His claim was that the girls should not have been in the sauna area of the locker room while he was letting twigs and berries dangle...

Based on the link Mr. Deez posted, I think the Colleen Francis situation is different then the one the article is referencing. You and I have already hashed the Colleen Francis situation. No need to rehash it.

Isn't even a small amount of steroid injected a lot more than what's naturally released in a human boys body?

A friend of mine on Facebook who's actually a political moderate posted this article. It's from a religious website, but the point it makes doesn't really rely on the religious angle. I enjoyed it, and frankly, it was a bit of a "validate Deez" article, though it was better stated than I've stated it.

* Ironically, the justification for the school policy is because transgender students do not feel comfortable sharing facilities with those they perceive as being of the “opposite sex.” Yet non-transgender students who have the same concern are labeled “bigots” and “transphobic.”

This is the point I've yet to hear explained, and I'd welcome anyone to enlighten me on it.

It's okay to offend everyone in the "correct" locker room, just as it was okay to offend whites (and many blacks) with forced busing.

I don't know if that's true or not, but you know who I really feel for in this debate? Roger Clemens. He had his reputation ruined for steroid use, and his real sin was just being a guy.

And hell, this may open up an opportunity for a resourceful chick to make some serious coin. Throw like a girl? Then don't be a girl. 'Roid up, gain muscle density and flexibility, pick up some throwing mechanics. If you can change from a skinny chick who can't throw the ball to home plate to a hulking mountain of muscle who can throw 102 mph and the league will be too tied up in knots over it because of political correctness, then why not try it? It could be worth tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars to you.

I have a somewhat coarse and obnoxious aunt who doesn't hesitate to take pictures of weird looking people and posting them on Facebook. She posted this one today from the airport. Needless to say, she lives in California, though I'm not sure if this is at LAX or one of the other airports out there.

Call me picky Mr D but I think the crazy and obnoxious one is the dude in the pic.
EVERYONE knows you wear white or off white tights and shoes with that shade of pink

And good lord NEVER wear a choker if your chins hang over.

Not thrilled for my wife/daughter to share a bathroom with the photographed person... not that I want to see him in the next urinal either.

He's obnoxious just for walking around like that, but trust me, she's obnoxious. She's very loud, and generally I think it's rude to photograph people and post their pictures for the purpose of ridicule.

She's also extremely profane and has absolutely no tact at all. I remember her coming to my parents house when I was about 6 years old, and I heard the words, "****," "****," and "c**t" for the first time, and they came out of her mouth within a matter of just a few minutes of her showing up. When I was a kid, my parents never talked like that, and she knew that and didn't care. It would piss me off if an adult talked like that around Deez, Jr., especially if it was in my house and he or she knew I didn't want that kind of talk around my kid. I would have made her leave.

I remember seeing photos of that dude...seems to me that he was a USAir regular out of PHX who did that partially for kicks and partially to jack with TSA. There was an active discussion on FlyerTalk a few years (or more) about him...
