Olympics

I think you might want to look into a mirror to identify the hatred.

You're right. I hate spoiled brats. I hate opportunists who revel in their narcissism while pretending to they know more than the rest of us.

I'm not too impressed with either of you guys political views so good luck with your insults. You are on the side of the worst political movement in the modern era.

You see, the militant soccer players support The Crew, Beto and AOC who you've tried to marginalize as fringe elements with no power. Yet you take up for the soccer team.

You don't even know your own bretheren. You don't know what you believe.

Not all the women want to kneel, or make a big deal of this at the Olympics.
It's like going out to eat with your family at a restaurant and having a big argument, or having it in the privacy of your own kitchen.
The purple haired freak, Megan Rapinoe, who I have disliked for many years, long before she became the >gag< face of the team has gotten them all riled up over the past few years, and I believe one of the reasons they are playing so poorly is there are fractures in the locker room over the when, how, of requesting more money and equal treatment.
Do I think they all want fair pay? Yes. But, I know they don't all want to kneel because there were several who stood instead during the qualifying games.
There will be some UT football players who will refuse to sing, "The Eyes of Texas", and hopefully most will.

Politics have invaded most sports, and I hate it, but that is where we are,
Or, you could watch swimming and see some very wonderful moments, where winners stand with their hands on their chests during the National Anthem with tears in their eyes. I have a feeling it will be uglier in track and field.
But if the women's soccer team wins, and it most likely won't, I can promise you, several of the players will act extremely patriotically.
I do think you're right. There are probably many that don't buy into the Rapinoe crap on the team but feel compelled to join in so they don't create friction and/or get MSM bullied.

For the record, there is no intention of hurling insults @bystander from me. We agree on many issues. The mirror and/or fingers no thumbs analogies are merely to point out the blindspots and the blatant hypocrisy. For a person that shouts from the Temple Mount about others hate to exhibit the same level of hate daily is hypocritical. To obsess about the other group then claim point at their obsessions is hypocritical. I'd simply encourage @bystander to point the thumb rather than the finger more. It's a more balanced approach which also has the byproduct of realizing the "other" is more like you than you realize.

They represent USA on the world stage. It's all mental gymnastics after that to convince yourself you aren't rooting against USA.

That's such a bizarre take. Alen Hadzic is on the US Olympic fencing team despite three women claiming sexual misconduct. His own teammates don't appear to want him there, and as a good Democrat, you believe all women. So did you root for Hadzic or against the USA? No need to dodge the question by saying you don't follow fencing. Use your mental gymnastics to pretend he's on a sport you do care about.

A. Dude shouldn't have been on the team.
B. Wasn't he an alternate?

Hadzic was an alternate that never competed. In fact, he never left his hotel as he wasn't allowed to participate in the athlete ceremonies nor the athletes village or even fly with the team. No, I didn't root against America because of what I perceive to be a bad decision by a ruling body. That would be an insult to the athletes that were there and competed in fencing for the USA. My support for the team (and USA) is entirely consistent. Now ask @2003TexasGrad whether he rooted against the USA.

Who will the purple headed penis blame for this abysmal Olympics performance? They are 2-2-1 in five matches. She certainly isn't taking responsibility like a leader. Its more of a team problem.

"I feel like we haven't had our joy a little bit," Rapinoe said.

Humm, I wonder why they haven't had their joy? Too busy complaining to be happy playing a game I suspect.

Interesting coming from a liberal outlet.

It's predictable. They are protecting her as much as they can.

If you adopt the mind-set that everything is political, then it's far beyond individual hurdles. It's class protection. They are zealously guarding the fort.

Well, liberals would normally say the mom should have had an abortion. But now they are touting she was adopted? How do they reconcile the difference. Oh yeah, it's the media, they don't have to.

I listened to a podcast and her issue came up. A big nothing burger. She has had issues since the trials and she realized that she was hurting her team and possibly herself.

A. So when you don't want someone on the Olympic team, it's justified, but when a conservative doesn't one someone on the Olympic team, it's unpatriotic?
B. Yes - still at the Olympics and could have been sent in to compete.

As I suspected, you dodged the question. Would you root for Hadzic or his opponent at the Olympics? It doesn't matter that you perceive there to be a bad decision by a ruling body. He was still allowed to go to Tokyo.

I didn't dodge but answered the real scenario. It wasn't implied that you were asking a hypothetical question. From memory, he was an alternate to the team fencing event, not an individual event. Had he been needed for the team event I would have rooted for the team yet been embarrassed for the US. Still, the other fencers deserve our support, even with their pink masks. How's this, I'm rooting against that panel that came up the with crazy penalty for Hadzic.

You're trying too hard to find an inconsistency in the logic rather than asking others why they would root against the US. Were you rooting against the women's soccer team?

I mean the same people who elected and defended a serial ***** grabber are ok with this dude? Shocked.

That's how we're different here. You'll root for people you dislike because they're on the team you like. I won't root for the team that has people I don't like, which includes Hadzic and Rapinoe.

Nobody said they'd root for Hadzic, expect Seattle Husker above...

It comes down to rooting for America or not. Country over team.

I find it hilarious that I've now seen 3 different hit pieces in Olympic coverage about the importance of mental health. All three were almost exclusively focused on women mostly black women all saying how difficult it is and how important it is to have empathy for them.

I'm not sure they understand that the way these are presented they are reinforcing how weak minded American women are. They should be able to take time out or withdraw to focus on mental health.

I 100% agree, but pull yourself out before you make the team fail because of you. Otherwise suck it up. BTW, no sympathy for the men, just the women.

Does Biles have the twisties or a mental issue? They are not the same. My guess she has the twisties but found “mental issues” to be a convenient excuse knowing the woke media would support her. Root issue may be immaturity.

"Twisties" and "mental issues" have become synonymous on the West Mall. Not sure that Simone has claimed anything other than the former.

Women are delicate flowers that need protection. Please keep them at home where they belong and out of the workplace, except the jobs that don’t require mental toughness.

I just recorded this interview and was posting it on you tube, but of course it was blocked before it was even posted. Figures they would censor a black athlete with such a great bubbly outlook on life celebrating the USA.

A) She thanked her coaches who she thought were too hard, but she did the work anyway and it paid off.
B) Said she is proud to represent the USA and that America is the best place on Earth.

I bet she gets a word from Rapinoe tonight on how absolutely wrong she is to celebrate like that.

I am proud of this Texan and American who's dad was from Nigeria (I think thats what she said).

Thats kinda how I have interpreted their messages. Especially how emotionally hard it is on the moms. Yeah, its called sacrifice to be the best in the world. Either do it or stay home. Don't screw your team and country.
