You are correct. I believe at one time UT was the only college with the primary color trademarked. Not sure if that is still the case.

Re: DKR, I remember my Father telling me that DKR did admit to changing to the darker shade of orange to further hide the ball. In the early 60's the jerseys were a bright orange and around 1964 - 1965 it changed to the darker burnt orange.
Correct. I remember my dad mentioning it. I must have been 8 or 9. I wanted a Texas jersey so bad.

Wow, looks just like that today!!

I'm joking.....In all honesty it didn't look much different from this when I got here in the 80's. South Congress was a little skankier than this.
 
Amazing how the capital building has shrunk in dominance of the landscape. Sad.
At one time there was an ordinance that prevented any building that would block the view of the Capitol.

Westgate was the first to violate that. Now, you need a helicopter to view the Capitol.
