Ah Texashorn, the old veteran acting like a newbie ploy. Riddle me this Batman, if you've been around so long and you are so incredibly blessed to know the origins of the sacred word "allsome", then why are you busting another poster's chops for using it? Another joke that nobody but you got? Or are you just trying to hop the fence when convenient? You see, by pointing out that you do indeed know that "allsome" is used often around here and always with an undercurrent of humor, you come out looking like the one who speaks out of an area below the waistline. And by the way, Rage's pointing out that there is an overpass and no bridge has plenty of weight here given that if you watchthe movie it is incredibly obvious that it was no overpass in that scene.

Okay I just saw it. It was a tense ******* movie.

And I don't know about slim jims, but Uvalde had an ATM in the early 80s, because I remember going with my mom when I was a little kid.

I saw it yesterday and me along with the others in the room were WTH??? once the screen went black..

wanted more closure.

Great movie.. just some unanswered questions.

Didn't waste the time to read all of the pages, but with this many posts I'm thinking I should see this. Guess I will.

I just got around to watching this movie tonight - actually it ended a few minutes ago - and I avoided this thread until seeing it. While I really appreciate the thought provoking input of everyone in this thread, I am a little too numb to over analyze it at the moment.

All the analyzing and over analyzing aside, my initial reaction to the seeing the credits roll was disappointment. IMO the ending keeps the movie from being a great film; however, it is still very good.

I also found the casting of Harrelson as Wells somewhat peculiar. Not that I don't like him as an actor, but he just didn't seem to fit the role. The rest of the casting was perfect. Again, just my opinion.

Coincidentally, there is a 10 year old Spanish / Italian film titled "Carne trémula" on Showtime right now with Javier Bardem in a very different role. His mother Pilar Bardem and Penelope Cruz are also in it.

"You're asking me if there's a problem with anything?"

I don't know who played Chigurh or Chingar or whatever his name is, but he's a bad mf.

Providing more closure or a different ending would have required a substantial re-write and departure from the novel, which the Coen brothers weren't going to do

The Harrelson comment was just a personal opinion. I will rewatch it and see if that changes.

I am by no means displeased with the movie and I certainly wouldn't expect the filmmakers to stray from the author's story. Perhaps surprised combined with a degree of disappointment would be a better description of my initial reaction to the film's ending.

I did think that Kelly MacDonald nailed the role of Carla Jean. I had no idea that she was Scottish, which makes her authentic west Texas accent even more impressive. Supposedly she really had to fight for the part and almost wasn't selected for the role.

You were right wildcat. I have to admit that after watching it again, I actually did come away with a greater appreciation of Harrelson in the role of Wells.

I do have a couple of spoiler questions regarding the film:

1. When Chigurh first went to the site of the drug deal gone bad and removed the vehicle ID plate off of Moss's truck, why did he shoot the two white guys in the suits that he came with?

2. How did the Mexicans (the three that Chigurth kiled in the motel room) find Moss in Del Rio? Was it because they had a receiver too?

3. Why didn't Chigurth kill Bell in the El Paso motel room where Moss was killed when Bell came back to the scene of the crime later that night and Chigurth was hiding in the room?

I'll give it a shot.
1. Chigurgh was not happy that other people had been sent to "assist" him. And please, "managerials" is the preferred nomenclature.

2. They had a receiver.
3. Don't know. I don't think this happened in the book.

Some of you cats that are miffed by the SlimJims, ATMs and what not, must have also been disapointed with the smell of popcorn in the theater. I'm pretty sure that those parts of Texas do not smell that way. I think some of the HWY and RD routes have been repaved as well. Extremely unrealistic in my opinion.
