no country for old men

Okay, finally got around to seeing this movie.

I loved the West Texas scenery, even though most of it was filmed in New Mexico.

Anyway, here's my list of ********/unanswered questions:

1. Why hasn't anyone questioned Chigurh's stealthy use of weapons? I mean, when Josh Brolin gets in the truck, Anton blows the driver away with a shot to the throat. Sorry, but I call ******** here. Anton was a good 100 yards away (down the street) and no scope. I doubt he could fire away so accurately with his crude weaponry. Sorry, as a firearm nut this strikes me as too "Hollywood".

2. So, a big Mexican in all black is cruising around with a big *** gun in a Houston office highrise. And nobody calls the cops? Where is security? Where's the secretary? He just strolls in, murders 2 people, and strolls out? Another Hollywood ******** moment.

3. Spare me the symbolism of Anton. He's a cold blooded killer. A thug. Nothing more. He kills good, honest people like the the chicken farmer, and the first guy driving harmlessly down the road. He doesn't only kill people that are morally bankrupt.

Other than that, decent movie. But I'm not one to get on my knees and blow the Coen brothers. They're overrated as filmmakers. I respect what they do, but they're just not my style.

They did nail West Texas though. I saw at least 10 people in that movie that resembled characters from my childhood.

worst Best Picture ever. At least suffering thru the English Patient and Shakespeare in Love can get you laid....
