NCAA Tournament Bracket (take 2)

Did you see the Tournament?
Which one? I saw the conference tournament where the Horn team he coached won it all. I saw the ncaa tournament where the Horn team he coached made it to the elite 8 and probably would have gone to the final four except for a critical injury and second half officiating that ruled any contact a foul on Texas. Sure, you can say that was a team Beard put together, but Terry still held it together and as I recall he made some good in game coaching decisions along the way. I saw the conference tournament where the Horn team he coached was one and done. I am not a Terry cheerleader and I have serious doubts about him being the guy, but to say he is one and done Terry is not even close to being an accurate description at this point.

Thanks Walking Boss
I am not totally sold on him either but I did not remember Terry being a one and done coach.

Higher seeds are 4-3 so far with #10 Nevada currently taking it to #7 Dayton. Very hopeful that seeding situation isn’t true for us in a few minutes.

In the 6 through 11 seeded games (8-9), (7-10) (6-11) the higher seed has won all of them so far with Nevada the 10 leading the 7 Dayton. In the last several years, I don't think there is much difference in teams that are seeded anywhere 6-11 and the results so far support this theory.

Ha! And then Dayton closes the game on a 23-1 run in then final 7+min to win! Unbelievable!

I am still trying to understand what the poster meant calling Terry "one and done"
I notice he offered no explanation.

Here’s my viewing list for Friday evening*

Grambling v Purdue
Longwood v UofH
Grand Canyon v St. Mary’s College

*not that anyone should particularly care. I just like making lists.

FINAL
It's hilarious watching Caliscummie in a presser talk about how great their program is, how many players he send to the NBA, etc. etc. :puke:

Hey Caliscummie, great job against there against that mighty and powerful perennial Final Four team Oakland!:lmao:

I am not a Calipari fan but I thought it handled it semi well. He did give credit to Oakland ( which I thought it was Oakland Calif) several times.
He did though mention a few times that several of his players did not play up to their usual games.

which I thought it was Oakland Calif
Same here. Turns out Oakland University (The Golden Grizzlies) is in Rochester, Michigan. You learn something new every day.

My comments were based on pre-game yesterday where he was a cocky jerk. I didn't see the after game. Sorry for the confusion.

I guess getting beat by Oakland humbles you a bit.

Run
You are also right. Some of it sounded like he was condescending. What I thought was iffy was calling out his own players
but maybe that is an ok teaching moment.

6721,

Sorry, but I don't think there are any "teaching moments" in a tournament loss. You're out! Going home! Season is OVER! At some point it sinks in that no matter how long you live, nothing you do will ever change the numbers on that scoreboard. The time for "teaching moments" was before tipoff or in game adjustments.

Sabre
I know you are right. I cringed when he mentioned it twice. He didn't mention players by name but not hard to figure out.

For those that say we are not a basketball school, I present this nugget.

We are one of either 5 or 6 (whatever the number is it's a small handful) teams to make the NCAA tourney 30 of the last 35 years.

A little late.

Accidentally tuned in to aggy vs corn aggy. Couldn't help but notice aggy jerseys say "Fightin' Texas aggies". Dumb-asses still don't get it...there's no such thing as a Texas aggy, fightin' or otherwise.
