Well, doesn't winning 11 games in a row count as already being on a roll?Carolyn Peck’s “teams that could get on a roll in the NCAA tournament” pick is Texas
It's pretty obvious to me that the committee did not factor in our win over Baylor today. We were #10 overall on 02/28 reveal, and only moved up to #7 overall despite recent wins over Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Baylor.
At a minimum, I was hoping to avoid being the #2 seed opposite #1 South Carolina, or having to match up with UConn in their backyard Bridgeport, CT regional. I'll take those victories.
Actually Carolyn Peck was highly complimentary of Texas including saying we are a team to watch in this tournament.Could Carolyn Peck make it anymore obvious how much she dislikes Texas??? Now we won because Smith went out with an injury??? Seriously, give us our credit!!
I really disagree with you all about Carolyn Peck. She did make that mistake in suggesting Baylor's loss was due to Smith's injury, but she had just a few moments earlier bragged on our team and on Vic's defense, saying we may really do well in the tournament. She has taken a lot of gaf on this board before, and I don't get it. I think she understands the game well and I like her personality. She gets on my fkn nerves! And she's a crappy game announcer to boot.
She said "get on the roll in the NCAA tournament," not referencing whether a team has already been on a roll.Well, doesn't winning 11 games in a row count as already being on a roll?
Perhaps, but is fan behavior a factor in determining seeding?Plus their fans have really ‘showed their a$$es’ as a former fb coach of mine would’ve said, including one of the mothers of an ISU player.
The Wolfpack are led by center Elissa Cunnane (13.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg) but they have a lot in common with Texas - play stifling defense and crash the boards. If Cunnane avoids foul trouble, they’d be a favorite on a neutral court. This sets up so well for UConn .... surprise, surprise. I don't know much about NC State, but I hope they are really strong. I don't want to see UConn back in the final four. I'm glad we may face Mulkey. Nothing would warm my heart like defeating her in the playoffs.
No but it certainly lessens what little bad feeling I had for them dropping to a 3.Perhaps, but is fan behavior a factor in determining seeding?
Did you mean "Whiparound"? Whiplash was a good description of the effect. It appears ESPN really is going to use their full compliment of channels to cover the WBB NCAA’s. Even have games scheduled on ESPNNews
I hope this means “Whiplash” coverage is truly dead & buried never to be heard from again. It was awful

I follow Celeste on twitter, I was a big fan of hers, and she RETWEETED a couple of posts from JAT about us winning the championship and strange enough she has recently retweeted several Texas baseball posts. Makes me wonder if she has some anxiety and regrets? She did not post anything about Duke not playing in the NIT but said something along the line of it was god's plan. Which I felt alluded to Duke's decision. Would love to see her come back but no room for her now!I feel for Celeste Taylor because she's such a competitor, and she gave it her all last post-season at Texas despite injuries and homesickness. Seeing her cry on the bench as the clock expired in Duke's final loss in the ACC tourney was tough as she's used to winning.
But, Kara's already had an impact recruiting in the state of Texas (Ashlon Jackson). So, I'm good with Kara and Duke not having team success.
I'm sure she made a lot of friends while at Texas for two years, including friends with players in other sports programs (like baseball). After 3 years in college, I'm guessing she's not eligible (age-wise) to declare for the WNBA. Probably best for her to remain at Duke one more season and complete here degree. Transferring to any other school right now probably means she'd have to sit out next season as she's already transferred once in her career; can't imagine her being willing to do that as she just loves to play bball so much.I follow Celeste on twitter, I was a big fan of hers, and she RETWEETED a couple of posts from JAT about us winning the championship and strange enough she has recently retweeted several Texas baseball posts. Completely missed this connection.
