NCAA Brackets

Looks like we play Xavier.

Terry should call Shanka and get some tips. Marquette beat split with the Mouseketeers.

they have a good big man.

Yeah but aggy beat arky who beat Kansas, so aggy will hang a Big Xll regular season co-championship banner. aggy gonna aggy

aggy. SMH. One of their beloved, devoted fans was saying that if Penn State didn’t hit all those 3’s and if they coulda scored in the paint line Disu did, they coulda won.

No reply was necessary. Just a smirk was all it took.

aggy gwaina aggy.

If Bevo could sing, he’d be the greatest tenor since Caruso.

Same old shanka.

lucky they drew the Vermont catamounts in the first round.

Looks familiar.

Outscored in both halves
38% shooting
16 turnovers
Out rebounded
Fewer offensive rebounds
3 steals vs 9 for MSU
0 blocks vs 3 for MSU

Unprepared and out played in every facet of the game.

TCU has had plenty of chances this 2nd half. They've missed a lot of free throws, along with the zags def getting more calls. Frogs on life support down 7 with 3:30 to go. Also I've only seen them hit 1 three pointer this half with about 4 rim outs.

Tcu misses front end of 1 and 1 which effectively ends the game for them. Free throws were their main downfall.

Take away that one trip to the final four, Shaka’s March Madness record isn’t all that great.

And that was now 12 years ago. Hasn't been to the S16 since.

And the Michigan State team he just lost to couldn't even hit anything from behind the arc (39% for the season but shot 2 of 16 today).

Smart’s Final four run was with a senior laden team left by the previous head coach that could shoot the three and stayed hot to get them to the FF. The record began to go down from there.

#2 Texas tangles with #3 Xavier next. Don’t know much about Xavier, but it will most likely be a real test.

They're one of the best offensive teams in the country. That style of team (I compare them to Gonzaga) can be a mismatch when we're not shooting well, like how they performed the last game against PSU. They always get that extra pass, which is why they lead the nation in assists per game.

They play all seniors and juniors. Only 1 underclassman gets any minutes.

Their 2 bigs (Nunge and Freemantle) combine for 29, 16, and 5 on average. We'll need Disu to be as good as he was against Penn State, and we'll also need Bishop to help out on both ends like he did towards the end of the regular season.

I honestly don't know what to do with Timmy Allen in this game. Their three best guards are too fast for him. My guess is we'll play a lot of undersized lineups (Carr Hunter Rice Allen Disu) and put Allen on Freemantle, who easily has a couple inches on Allen. Hopefully we don't need to get out of the man-to-man too often. Xavier can turn it on from three, even though that's not their preferred method.

The x factor in this game comes down to what we get out of Cunningham, Morris, and Mitchell. If any of them can get on a roll, or at least help out with turnovers or playing physical, the rest of the team can feed off of it. We need Carr taking his time on offense and not making dumb fouls.

They were a play in team that barely made the tourney and he took them to the final four.
So I guess Terry shouldn't get any credit for taking a team to the Sweet Sixteen left to him by the former coach that recruited all those players?
Marquette wasn't supposed to be anything special this year and he made them a 2 seed.
Yea, they got upset.
But he did just as well as Kansas, Purdue and Virginia.
I don't understand the need to tear down a former coach that did his best during a difficult time and left on decent terms without any arrest warrants or NCAA investigations or other bad publicity.

If Terry coaches 12 more years and never makes the S16 again, then I think we'd mostly conclude in hindsight that 2023 was more about Beard than about him.

BEVO would put Michigan J Frog into retirement.
