Longhorns vs piggies

Losers complain about the refs, that’s all they got. Of course the refs made mistakes, as always, but the losers only notice the calls that went against them. They kicked our asses no matter how you slice it. I know this group of posters has former players and coaches mixed in, and I’m not in position to lecture any of you, but objectively you sound like ags when you complain about the refs. They beat us up, it’s embarrassing, I hope we get better fast.

How about the lowered head, CLEAR helmet to helmet hit by piggie LB on I believe Bijian that was not called?
I remember that play....now, if the defensive player is going low for a tackle, and the offensive player lowers HIS head to brace for impact, didn't the offensive player "cause" the helmet-to-helmet, and they're "both at fault", or not at all?......

Losers complain about the refs,

Losers may indeed do that, and I agree with most of your post, but we have had to put up with Walt Anderson's BigSky/MWC rejects for a long time thanks to Donnie Duncan, and we all NOW know what I told Deloss in the beginning about Duncan - "he will embarrass you and embarrass the conference". The incompetence of the Big XII officials past Mike Defee & Cooper Castleberry since the departure of Steve O (spell that name) and Al Dowden (sp) is criminal. Walleye Burks continues Anderson's tradition. Brandon Cruse would NOT be selected by Texas HS coaches to do a State Championship game.

Yes, we did get our asses kicked. Questions are (1) Why; and (2) Can Sark fix it?

The one at the endzone the defender came in from the side with helmet down already.

In case anyone is wondering, the voters punished Texas more for this loss than they did the 1997 loss to UCLA

That sort of makes sense in that 1997 UCLA was a really good team and 2021 Arkansas is probably not. That said, I'm not sure the voters knew that yet in 1997 - UCLA opened the year 0-2, but they were both close loses to good teams in which UCLA played well but just had the misfortune of playing 2 of their 3 toughest games of the season in the very first 2 weeks.

While I'm not worried about Rice due to the enormous talent disparity, noodle on this:

If the hogs can outsmart us (and they did),
Don't you think we might get outsmarted by Rice?

The difference is you have to be faster than the other guy while outsmarting him. Rice can only do half of the equation.

Rice can only do half of the equation.

Now there's a statement that usually does not compute.

But, since it's Rice..., that could be because they performed a topological surgery beforehand without gluing the mathematical manifold back together. Or something like that...

It was probably this guy:

Watched first half of game and amazed at our D - the first few series. And I won’t call out a name to criticize but only say I think we should give Jerrin Thompson and JD Coffey an opportunity.
The offense, well everything has already been said about them. I’m hoping Casey brings some continuity.
