Longhorns vs piggies

Our QB has a guy dive at his knees 4 seconds after a whistle and no OL does anything. Not even help him up forget about grabbing a mask or getting in a face.

This is a good point and speaks volumes about the 'toughness' aspect that's been a problem for a long time. I was so mad at the time about the refs ignoring it, I didn't think about this aspect of that play. Now I am depressed. Sigh.

@baoklhorn went to the game and I talked to him on the phone this eve about the game, the chaotic fans, the incredible roar from the arky fans the whole game.

I encouraged him to come here and paint a picture of his game experiece.

How about the lowered head, CLEAR helmet to helmet hit by piggie LB on I believe Bijian that was not called?

This was the worst I’d felt the morning after a game in 10 years. Maybe longer. Close losses on stupidity (last 2 ISU games) or end game gut punches like WVU in Austin are one thing, but just not showing up and being out coached for a bitter rivalry is a different thing all together. One of the first hits one of their little white LBs made on BR in the backfield and he ran to the sidelines with his hair on fire I knew they were beyond ready to whoop us and there was a major intensity and enthusiasm gap. Did we not appreciate this/were the guys not prepared by the staff for that? This is Arky’s Super Bowl. They could loose every game for the rest of the season and they’d be more or less happy beating our breaks off. The 3 n outs in first half were unacceptable and that doomed the D. O line needs major work and CT is most likely the guy for now. HC has real potential but CT seems to be the gamer we need for now.

Brandon Cruse is from South Dakota. He was a crappy BigSky & MWC official, then he got promoted (hold on, you know what's coming) thanks to everyone's favorite dentist - Walt Anderson.

Thanks Worster,
All i can say is I remember the 2004 game here. Porkers then were fairly rabid.
They have taken it another level. The Decibel level reached 95-96 many times at critical points in the game, a deafening level. It was easily the loudest game I have ever been to. I really believe our team was not prepared for this level of hostility.
The jumbotrons had hookem signs that rotated from up to down. The stadium had much work done to it. The bleachers were built vertically to magnify the sound level.
Had two piggies walk up and say " Texas is our SUPER BOWL"!?
Was selling 2 tickets outside the Stadium with Hogfans waving upside horns at me. During the game I had a guy waving an airbrushed pic of a Razorback standing over a dead Longhorn in my face.
It was like the entire state converged on Fayettville. Everybody I saw had Arky gear on. Amazing...our fanbase has to learn to match this. DITCH THE WINE AND CHEESE MENTALITY. FOOTBALL IS SERIOUS BUSINESS IN THE SEC. Stephen of Fanatic Perspective said EVERYBODY hates us, get used to it and be prepared for it.

IMHO A change to Thompson would have given us a chance when the score got to 16-0. Nothing against Card. Go with the Hot hand. Changing quarterbacks should not be anymore a big deal than changing running backs etc. We need a punter, find one and by all means, fix the Offensive LINE.

Well, there was also the 24-0 loss to Iowa State, who finished the year 3-9 with Kansas and FCS Northern Iowa as their only other wins...

I blame that incident on the refs not blowing a clear whistle, not on the Arkansas player. Everyone kept playing and I was wondering if I was actually hearing an official's whistle or if someone in the stands was making whistling noises. They waited far too long to blow it decisively and unambiguously.

Maybe I am letting my disappoinment cloud my thinking and I waited a few days before saying this.
But I kept thinking there was no way the d could be that inept in tackling. No way and no way the backs and qb(who were good) were so much better than our D all the freakin time.
It was like a feel good Disney movie, poor down trodden team finds their mojo and beats the class 6 winner.
It looked like the play of Mackovic 's teams after he lost them. Half hearted.

In case anyone is wondering, the voters punished Texas more for this loss than they did the 1997 loss to UCLA, ya know, Rout 66.

1997 AP Poll
Fell 17 spots from #11 to #28.
1997 Coaches Poll
Fell 14 spots from #10 to #24. Still ranked!

2021 AP Poll
Fell 20 spots from #15 to #35.
2021 Coaches Poll
Fell 20 spots from #15 to #35.

Ouch.

This is the worst you've felt morning after a game? Obviously you don't drink enough.

Any voter that gave us a vote after that game should have their voting rights revoked.

Fayetteville, AR at night isn't a time and place where we'll be getting any favors from the refs (or even a fairly-called game).

I'm not over reacting to the loss. I knew Fayetteville was going to be a battle and I'm not surprised we lost. What I am reacting to is the fact that we didn't even show up. Unfortunately, that is Texas' MO way too often. I'm very surprised to see it happen with this coaching staff. That's why my confidence in this staff has been shaken.
Getting embarrassed by an old rival that hates your guts on national TV on a Sat night is the worst thing a new coach can do. Especially with fans as hungry as the Texas fans. Piggy had talent, more than we thought. But preparation and game time adjustments, or lack thereof, should be of all of our concerns. And if this team is not incensed over this *** kicking, that will be a bigger concern. The “soft”monkey cannot return to the image of Texas football.
I put this behind and will hope Sark rights this ship.
