Lache Seastrunk's Favorites

So for those paying attention:

Early Lache was a Longhorn lean (and supposedly a strong one) then he never talked about Texas much. Since then it has been LSU, USC, and now Auburn as his lean. Meanwhile he finally got his family member to quit posting on sites (because she let it slip they were Longhorns and wanted him in Burnt Orange). So all people have to go on is the crazy chase he leads them on.

Meanwhile Major still shows up to his practices, Lache still shows up to UT practices. He plans on being at the Spring Game. For someone who isn't serious about Texas, he sure does spend a lot of time here. He has these reporters chasing him as much as LBs and DBs do.

I don't think he's doing anything that would make him the type of kid Texas doesn't want. If that was the case, we'd have heard that Major stopped dropping by his practices. That hasn't happened. So I believe this is a guy who is playing it very close to the vest. I can even see his thought process : They think he's a Texas lean, he mentions how much of a friend Trevor Reed is. They think he's a Tiger, he wears USC gear to school. They think it's down to USC and LSU, he brings up Auburn. He has an Auburn letter in his locker!

We'll know where he WANTS to be when he decides he is ready for us to know. I'm thinking that it's hard to give up a dream. So I believe he'll be a Longhorn. His friends and family want that, and that's hard to buck against when it's what you wanted growing up. Plus his actions speak loudly that Texas is in it.

USC could be on the backburner. It would be a coup for Chizik if he walked off with our RB. Still, we're playing guessing games with a teenage kid. At least with his current list we don't have to worry about playing against him.

Well White is rumored to committ at the spring game or early April. If that happens I would imagine that Lache would wait a little longer so his announcement would stand on its own.

I'm one of those that began doubting we'd see Seastrunk in burnt orange a while back, but I'm changing my mind again.

He's enjoying the recruiting process, which is fine. I'm confident for several of the reasons listed above that we're still strongly in it for his commitment, and he's worth giving the time and space to enjoy things.

When he's ready to commit, Seastrunk will, and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it's good news for the good guys.

There can be little doubt that I let my Orange Lenses color my view of the future, but I am more optimistic than in recent years. It is as if the '10 class is like a giant burnt-orange snowball, rolling downhill and picking up blue-chippers until no great athlete can withstand its attraction. I dare to hope Lache and others will still sign on. Hookem!!!!

Why not hire his pastor's son as an assistant coach at UT to get him to come to Texas. After all we have hired several of Auburn's coaches lately.

I'm actually kinda surprised that medium game Bob didn't hire Luper from okie lite. He played up in Sherman, which is strong sooner country, and stoopsie is striking out otherwise so far on this year's best recruits in Texas.

Well, first he was an LSU lock, then a strong USC lean, now an Auburn lock. I guess this means we can count on him signing a UT commit next Feb.

I noticed from another thrend that Rivals Prospective Rankings for the State of Texas that four of the top ten players are RBs (yes I know it is early) and three have already expressed medium interest in us. If Seastrunk doesn't commit to us I think we may go after more RBs in 2011. It looks like Texas is a good year for RBs in 2011 class.

I strongly dislike these kids who love the limelight and try to get the attention of everyone towards.
But after watching some clips of Lache, Im impressed.
I think after this I believe that if Lache wants to come to Texas, great! But if not, we will be just fine. I think most would not disagree that if VY was cocky, he would not have done so well and would not have been the leader he was.
Hopefully Lache would realize this and tone down the attention grabbing.

vanterminator, where do you get this "attention grabbing?"

Seriously, where has Lache done anything that was attention grabbing? Is it visiting Austin last weekend with his mother and getting on the TV Networks in town? Wait, he didn't.

Did he call the papers and say he was going to Austin for another weekend?

Did he tell the recruiting services?

The answer is no to all the above right? So why is he an "attention grabber?"

He is being harassed by Recruiting services. They rate him one of the top 5 players in the nation. They harass him. He doesn't like many of them. One of my nephews is friends with Lache. It's not his fault he's being harassed. I think his extremely flippant responses lately show he doesn't like the attention either.

That is why I think a lot of people are going to be shocked when he makes his decision before the summer ends.

maybe i was a little harsh on the kid...
but ive seen him mention texas and lsu as his leaders early on, wear a usc jersey when texas recruiting services came to interview him (yes, yes i know it doesnt really mean anything but it did get people start wondering if hes a ut lock) and now hes mentioning auburn as the one that has an acceptance letter up on his locker...all of these are simple truths based on interviews, not rumors.
do you disagree thats some form of attention grabbing? this changing of schools has kept us wondering and readings whats new with the kid these days, correct?
in the end, i agree actions are louder than words and given hes been around texas quite a lot lately, his intentions towards us are good

>>>You're way off base and posting this crap makes the rest of us look bad. How many times do we have to hear stories about recruits reading these boards before people will stop bashing these kids?

Im sure he reads these boards, but do you really think this kid is going to make his decision based on what I say. Im sure he doesnt give a **** about what I or you or anyone else says.

Hes going to make the decision thats best for him. And if you think our comments manner after hes probably heard it all, I think youre mistaken.

legend has it that a certain running back was set to commit to aggy but since so many asshat aggys were acting like asswipes at the press conference, he switched to LSU. Forget the name...played for the raiders...long neck.

Fans can make a difference.

Actually recruits do care about fan statements.

It's just dumb to say something you have no idea is true. Your reasoning is entirely childish. Lache is playing it close to the vest. He's making it so that every time they contact him it's something new and entirely different. Good for him.

Also it says more about how he treats a recruiting service about that service than about Lache. Did it ever occur to you that he feels harassed by that service and treats them flippantly on purpose?

I know a lot of Texas fans love that service. It doesn't stop that service from harassing a lot of kids.

vanterminator, i think you have it all wrong. i think he is having a blast turning us all one way and then the other.

i think he's just having fun, and i find it pretty amusing. your panties are way too wadded up -- assuming you are serious.

Idk about you guys, but I know if I were Lache or [enter other major recruit here], I'd be having a blast creating an alias on every one of these team forums and throwing ALL sorts of rumors around. I would butter up fanbases like A&M's, throwing all sorts of tasty rumors out and "released pictures" of me wearing TAMU gear that I took of myself... then just deny them. I'm sure at least ONE of these major recruits one of these years has made an alias to have fun w/ other fanbases..

Lache, his mother, his aunt, and his friends all read this board.

So people should watch what they say. He's a really good kid with a good head on his shoulders. He will pick his school and it won't be from games, money, or other nonsense. It will be because it's the place he felt most at home with.

We're doing just fine with him. So quit with the negative posts about the kid.

Good Gawd, if it had been that way 40 years ago when I was "recruited" I'd have had a big head as well. Leave these kids alone and they will make the right choices....
