Per James Gray, the family will be in Austin tomorrow for Texas spring practice.

This can only be good. I'll definitely be checking the computer all day for that much anticipated #14 commit thread.

Is that this years most exciting player since VY. 2010 Lache Starstruck. 2011 Malcolm and Aaron Green. Part of what made Earl and VY was not only their incredible talent, but they were simply physical freaks of nature. Jumping from HS to NCAA didn't change the fact that they were physically a mismatch for anyone the faced. Haven't seen one of those this yr except maybe the WR in Missouri

You never know, tholly. I remember clearly when Roosevelt Leaks was THE MAN--it didn't seem like anyone could be that physically dominating, and then, while he's still on campus, they say, hey, this new guy Earl Campbell is better. (And he was.)

Then, I remember the Cowboys drafting Steve Walsh with basically the first overall pick, and they said, we're set at QB for a long time. Then, they get the chance to pick first overall in the next draft, and instead of picking another position, they go for a QB--Aikman--saying, really, this guy is better. (And he was.)

So, maybe Jonathan Gray will be the guy to make us forget whoever is the last one we could never forget.

Actually I think Aikman was drafted #1 and then the following supplimental a few months later the Boys draft Walsh #1

Yep, it was a WTF when they drafted Walsh. Then Aikman goes 0 fer and Walsh wins the one game that year and most in Dallas think they should trade Aikman. Good thing fans aren't GMs.

So if you had to put it in percentages of UT, TCU, and Agroids chance what would you say? Okay I'm bored and wanting some more discussion on this subject.

I have no clue but here's my guess.

Horns 70%
TCU 25%
Ags 3%
other 2%

I just won't feel good until it's 100%.

Longhorns - 98%
Cockroaches - 3%
aggy - -1%

I'm being as kind & fair with this. Oh sure my glasses have a somewhat orange tint to them, this is a

board afterall. TCU has the best chance to keep UT's odds being 100%. As for aggy, well they're just fodder for the p@wnage thats merely weeks away.

It must suck to play 2nd fiddle to the Horny Frogs. Aggy will probably have to come up with "saw'em off" t-shirts for the Horned Toads next after this embarassing predicament.

I watched the kid's sophmore film and i don't see how anyone can see he's some transcendent talent based on that information. he's fast and has good vision, but he had perhaps one run where he actually broke a real tackle-threat. maybe two or three arm tackles other than that. everything else was a whole lot of speed against slow kids and some moves in the open field.

maybe his junior film is different, but he's got mack truck holes he's running through. jamall charles broke tackles like a savant, still does. i'd like to see some film of gray doing anything close to that before i think the kid is anywhere near that special. i sure hope he is. just my two cents.

imo, you need to do a LOT more research before expressing such a damning opinion. I saw him play this year and he broke tackles consistently. Not trying to be disrespectful here, but most people realize that youtube highlight reels are a selection of big plays and not representative of a total game or season. Also, the kid is considered one of the best backs in the country for 2012. I believe a lot of true experts have analyzed enough games to determine that ranking.

"Also, the kid is considered one of the best backs in the country for 2012. I haven't seen much of him. I did see the finals and it wasn't even fair. Giving someone as quick and fast as him those holes. He was often 6-7 past the LOS before he had to cut. He may be the next Reggie Bush, however aakeys could've had 75-90 yds and a TD with that blocking

I'm reading some of these comments as either he's been a fluke, or any back in the state should have his stats. He did it two years in a row. Perhaps he's just that good.

I'm sure glad we don't have a couple on here that are our talent scouts. This kid score 8 TD's in last years State Championship game. He score 4 TD's in the State Championship game as a Soph. If they go to State again which I think is a pretty good chance in that, he mostlikely will break Cedric Benson's record of 15 TD's in state championship games. This kid without question will be the #1 RB in the country for the 2012 class. I promise you I wasn't thinking D Scott bring near as much excitement as VY did when he gave a verbal. Johnathan does and you need to go to one of his games if you're not too far from the DFW area. He is special. No, he is very special.
