Israel = the Good Guys in the Middle East; Turks proving to be our enemies

Per Agenda Free tv

IDF speaks -- "The event is not over yet."
More from IDF -

one base in Southern Israel was hit by several Iranian missiles, but only minor damage was sustained.

Large majority of shots that reached Israel were intercepted.

More IDF -

More than 200 aerial threats were launched/entered Israeli airspace.

Vast majority of missiles/drones were intercepted.

(repeated) "The event is not over yet."

More IDF -

There are more threats on the way. (Israel's)* air force has extended outside Israel's borders and is currently intercepting cruise missiles outside Israel's borders.

Cruise missile attack on the way now.

* he was ambiguous as to whether US, UK, French planes were intercepting cruise missiles over Jordan/Iraq/Syria as well.

TRUMP weighs in, ............................at 375 lbs..... :rolleyes1: :drummernana:

Trump says the US is showing great weakness by its (non) response to Iran's actions, and if he was President, Iran would never have done this.

Iran tweets: This was just Iran's response to Israel's attack on Iran's embassy in Damascus. "The matter can be deemed concluded."

Much of the Civilized World is rallying around Israel.

Not a whole lot of support for Iran, outside the usual rogue regimes.

Amateur military historians weighing in:

This is the first time in history over 100 ballistic missiles were launched in an attack or battle.

More reports --

US Military planes shot down at least a dozen Iranian drones/missiles before they reached Israel.

UK and France were doing the same, no numbers to report.

The RAF was there lickity-split from Cypress.

Iraq named among the Allies by UK Prime Minister.

Israel
USA
UK
France
Jordan
Iraq
Saudi Arabia (nothing official yet; but they've been in a proxy war vs. Iran for years)
maybe more

Per Sky News (Australia)

UK sending more refuelers, jets, and other things.

France and USA have ships steaming at flank speed to get to the area.

Per Al Jezeera:

Some Iranian missiles were made of fiberglass making radar fixes more difficult? (out of my ken)

Israel asks Malta to call an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Malta does so. UN Security Council to meet tomorrow or tonight.

Per Agenda Free News Commentator:

Israel War Cabinet just gave the green light to the IDF for a "powerful response" to Iran's attack.

Per Agenda Free News Commentator:

It was the Ramon Air Base in the Negev that was successfully hit by Iran.

Per The Economist -

Israel has already informed the US that Israel will be retaliating and the retaliation could include Iranian nuclear installations. (Israel hitting Iran's nuclear installations - not Israel launching nukes, which they do have)

New air raid sirens and alerts in Golan Heights/Galilee.

Say, I thought Iran said they were through......... :rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1:

Who attacked first Israel? Or Iran?

Remember what Israel did a couple of weeks ago? It was an act of war against Iran.

Damn, @Chop

@Monahorns is going to have quite a chore refuting all these posts one by one.

It is okay when Israel responds disproportionally, but it isn't okay when anyone else does the same against Israel. That is the foundation of all of Chop's points. It is objectively false.

The fact is Iran could have chosen to do nothing about Israel bombing their embassy in Syria. That would have been the right decision to de-escalate the situation. They chose to respond militarily. My understanding is they retaliated in a tit for tat and stopped. The problem is going back and forth just makes it worse. It's very sad that this continues to escalate.

Saudi Arabia is in.

And Saudi jets helped shoot down Iranian drones.

Not surprising. Israel has been improving connections with Saudi Arabia for a while now.

It makes sense from a Sunni vs Shia perspective. I would be surprised if Iraq joins in. They are Shia and have had very close ties to Iran since Hussein was taken out.

1. Hezbollah is funded by, and a proxy for Iran. There's not many who would disagree.

2. Hezbollah attacked Israel by rocket / artillery fire; Iran's proxy struck first, and continues to strike. There's not many who would disagree this happened.

3. Israel hits Iran's embassy. The right move? I wouldn't have thought of it. But, it's a response to Iran's previous attacks on Israel through its proxy Hezbollah.

1st - Iran hits Israel through it's funded terrorist proxy Hezbollah
2nd - Israel hits Iran's embassy in Syria
3rd - Iran attempts to hit all over Israel with missile and drone strikes -- most were unsuccessful.
4th - Israel __________________________?

Note, Israel has taken it to the UN Security Council through Malta.

1. Ok :smile1:
2. I don't disagree. Amid all the other stuff. What did they do exactly? Was anything actually hit?
3. Not the right move. Hezbollah works out of Lebanon. The Iranian embassy was in Syria. They killed some Syrians too. Also despite the connection between Iran and Hezbollah, Hezbollah was the bad actor. Attack them. That is a more direct response and it doesn't expand the conflict. This is how world wars start. US needs to stay out of it.

1st - That is a logical leap. What evidence do you have that Iran wanted Hezbollah to do anything? We agree that Hezbollah involved themselves. They have agency. Deal with them.
2nd - Yes
3rd - Yes
4th - Israel, shouldn't try to involve the US in their war and start World War 3. Israel can't do anything against Iran themselves. Deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon. That way Iran doesn't feel the need to get involved. Keep the conflict contained. Israel may not want that, but US politicians should absolutely work toward that goal. If the US wasn't involved Israel wouldn't be so emboldened to do what they are doing. Everybody chill. That is what I am saying.
