Irby

Already a great Longhorn in my book.
I wish him the best in his recovery.

It looked like the same kinda hit you see several times on sat and sunday. It's common and I didn't consider it a cheap shot but it's almost amazing that those types of hits don't cause more injuries. At the same time, it's hard to expect a 180# DB to solo tackle a TE who outweighs him by 80# without that type of hit. I hope he can get through such a tough injury the way Scaife and others have and go on to outstanding career.

I'm wondering if any of you saying it was a cheap shot have ever played football. So you're saying the DB timed it so perfectly as to hit Irby directly on the knee just as the foot was being planted? These are great athletes but not so great as to pull something like that off.

DB's go low so they don't bounce of the TE. It was not dirty. Those of you that think it was go back and review the game and count how many times we tackled somebody below the thighs.

The only replay I saw was on Godzillatron and --as has been said -- you really couldn't tell the extent of the injury. I don't know if it was a cheap shot or not.

What I do know is that Blaine Irby was having a great season, which is now over. I pray for his complete recovery, and that we will see him next year in the orange and white, making great play after great play.

Blaine Irby! Get 'em next year!

Gruesome injury, very similar to McGahee. I don't think it was a cheap shot - just an unfortunate result to a low hit. Awesome of Irby to throw the Horns up despite the obvious amount of pain he was in.
