Iraq demands US leave their country

How can anyone not see how despicable the Dems are?

I like the Scott Adams explanation -- they intentionally limit what they see & hear, the news they learn, to sources they know will only reflect how they already feel. Thus they create bias-confirming-echo-chambers for themselves. We expose ourselves to more news, more sources and, generally, take a more open-minded view of the world. I think this adequately explains that certain group of posters in here as well as anything else I've seen

This is all just unbelievable. The Democrats are “Breaking Bad”. How can any democrat that loves this country do the things they are doing? They lie, cheat, con, steal, treason, and all the other corruption that goes along with that. They need to change their name to the Hypocrisy Party.

I understand a clash of basic values but what I don't understand is how the hypocrisy is so easily glossed over. That is where the emotional immaturity line becomes evident to me.

They are not persuaded by facts. They get into their mind that they are right and no matter how much the truth slaps them across the face they stick to their parties talking points. It’s so engrained into their brain that it’s them the left against the right that lying and cheating is okay because of their belief of the greater good. DAMN, that sounds just like the Koran.

Not sure what happened to America being one. The division is so one sided too.

Lets start with the 700 club. Make a list of all the people that are terrorist and that have killed over 700 Americans and go get them. One down. That one terrorist gone might save 700 more Americans.

Suliemanni didn't kill 700 Americans though.

I am not sure why you were not aware of Suleimani before. He was declared a terrorist by USA and Israel EU years ago. That made the news. Generals serving as CicCentcom or over in the area accused himof as many as 25% of our military deaths in Iraq.
Yes he and the US did fight ISIS> We allied with Stalin too
How many Americans did he kill? Do you consider the people killed in the Benghazi attacks civilians?
I know you are not saying we should not have taken him out since it would inflame the regime? That we should have let him go on killing Americans so as to not make the Iranian regime mad?

Horn6721, had you ever heard the name Suliemanni before? When the news reported he was killed, did you think, they finally got that guy I remember people talking about?

If you did, hats off to you. I had never heard his name before. The reports discussing his misdeeds that I have read are all coming after his death.

If he was really a direct, imminent threat to Americans in Iraq, then I understand why he was killed. I would not sacrifice American lives in order to placate Iran's feelings. That said just because you kill him doesn't mean we have killed the plans he was making with others. So not sure how that all works.

Gold is up thru a range, but rest of mkt shrugs

I’m still trying to figure out why Iran and the left are so upset with Trump killing Soleimani. I’m mean really, he gets to have 72 virgins now.

Oh wait I get it. Soleimani still had unfinished business with his plans to kill more Americans first. :smokin:

Petraeus Says Trump May Have Helped ‘Reestablish Deterrence’ by Killing Suleimani

If you believe Petraeus to be credible here are a few quotes:

"He is responsible for providing explosives, projectiles, and arms and other munitions that killed well over 600 American soldiers and many more of our coalition and Iraqi partners just in Iraq, as well as in many other countries such as Syria. So his death is of enormous significance."

"The reasoning seems to be to show in the most significant way possible that the U.S. is just not going to allow the continued violence—the rocketing of our bases, the killing of an American contractor, the attacks on shipping, on unarmed drones—without a very significant response.

Many people had rightly questioned whether American deterrence had eroded somewhat because of the relatively insignificant responses to the earlier actions. This clearly was of vastly greater importance. Of course it also, per the Defense Department statement, was a defensive action given the reported planning and contingencies that Suleimani was going to Iraq to discuss and presumably approve.

This was in response to the killing of an American contractor, the wounding of American forces, and just a sense of how this could go downhill from here if the Iranians don’t realize that this cannot continue."

I had heard of him before much like I knew who Al bagdadi sp? was
Rouhiani or al zawari. There were articles from years talking about what he was doing. There were reports when Obama stopped Israel from taking Suleimani out.Think how many would have been saved if Obama had left the Israelis alone.

this? "Suliemanni didn't kill 700 Americans though."
Really? How do you know. He is credited with over 600 American military. And of course the people killed at Bengazi. He operated all over the ME. If I had time to research I wonder if I would find any American contrators killed
700 was I think was an arbitrary number. Could have been 650.

Dude spent his whole life hating on the Great Satan (which is most of you by the way). He fought America, killed Americans. But in the end, he was taken for his last ride on an American car after getting taken out by an American missile.

Must be in Iraq?

Right on cue, the Chron has photos of anti-war protesters in today’s paper. Syria? Libya? Where were they during 8 years of Obama?

So now the Iraqi Parliament is again telling the US military to get out.

Do they have a right to tell us to get out of their country? How dare they tell us what to do. They must be evil or something.

.

FWIW, tweet from Mustafa Salim (in link).

Now some MPs inside the hall can be heard chanting slogans against America and Israel.
Yes,yes Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandus”
“Yes,yes Soleimani”
“No,No America”
“No,No Israel”
MPs are chanting inside the hall.

Iraqi Parliament Votes To Expel US Troops From Iraq and the US Congress Should Make Sure That Happens

I read that the Sunnis and Kurds did not vote for this.
But I am ok to get our people out
and to destroy everything down to toliet paper holders

?
We did not bomb Bagdad airport.
We withdrew all troops from Iraq in 2011
ONLY sent troops back at Iraq's request.
Article sloppy and full of errors

This from Reuters says we sent a letter saying we will withdraw. Hope it is true but it is kinda odd since it mentions ISIS
U.S.-led coalition says it will withdraw from Iraq -letter
The United States-led military coalition against Islamic State said on Monday that it was pulling out of Iraq and would be repositioning forces over the next few days and weeks, a letter seen by Reuters showed.

"Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement," read a letter from United States Marine Corps Brigadier General William H. Seely III, the commanding general of Task Force Iraq."
