Impeachment

It's almost all at least stated as fact. Is it all supported by the evidence? Some of it is, but I'm not sure about all of it.

That's the problem. Partisans on both sides of the political spectrum make broad claims without evidence. Spreading that information without any validation just make the "re-poster" a mouthpiece of the original propagandists.

I'm not saying that occured here because I don't know the evidence. It smells a little though draped in partisan rhetoric.

Yeah, there weren't sources to Rectenwald's tweet. I read other things he writes and he usually very careful about showing his source material in footnotes. I don't expect him to say or write anything that he hasn't studied in detail.

Could the tweet be an exception? Yes. Small chance of it though.

Just reread JoeFans post which quoted Interfax Ukraine. Horn6721 posted the same even earlier. There was an interesting line in the article.

"This was the transfer of Burisma Group's funds for lobbying activities, as investigators believe, personally to Joe Biden through a lobbying company. Funds in the amount of $900,000 were transferred to the U.S.-based company Rosemont Seneca Partners, which according to open sources, in particular, the New York Times, is affiliated with Biden. The payment reference was payment for consultative services," Derkach said.

Notice anything irregular about that quote? It's the linking of Rosemont Seneca Partners to Joe Biden rather than Hunter Biden. We know Hunter is associated with that firm but to date I haven't been able to find any evidence or references to Joe Biden being associated with it although this article claims the NYT has linked "Biden" to this firm. Based on that, conservatives have continued with the Joe Biden received $900k from Burisma.

@Monahorns: Now do you understand why I'm skeptical? Maybe you can find the connection I couldn't between Joe Biden and Rosemont Seneca partners. Afterall, that's the lynchpin of this accusation.

I have not found any source linking Joe Biden directly to Rosemont Seneca. Lots of stuff on Hunter. Nothing on Joe, except from that weird Ukraine site.

Thanks for the additional check. The Ukrainian article seems to be making some blind leaps to connect Joe Biden. Repeating this info opens the purveyor to accusations of spreading propaganda. Paging Mr. Rechtenwald...

The crazy liberal business writer for the Chron goes heavy after the Bidens. Says his old African friends are laughing at him (since he used to write about African corruption when he lived there). All I need to know that Biden et al. are corrupt.

Since MP Andriy Derkach , A member of the Ukrainian parliament, is the one who held the press conference held at that Ukraine press center and since it was reported he revealed docs showing how Biden got the 900K hopefully someone will investigate if that is true.
Unlike an anonymous so called whistle blower there was a person named who is also a member of their gov't.
this is why I listed the link
This MP reported the materials that he got from investigating journalists have already been passed to Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigations and the Prosecutor's General Office.

He also said he will initiate the creation of an ad hoc parliamentary investigative commission and has already requested launching a criminal case against Ukrainian officials into interference into U.S. elections. The court session is scheduled for October 21, he said.
Has the DOJ launched any investigation?

I'm ok with an impeachment inquiry, but if the media wonders why people are skeptical of them, this kind of over the top ball-licking and overt partisanship is part of the reason. It's nauseating, and it's coming from a reporter, not an opinion writer. Link.

As Ben Shapiro often says, "so much journalisming."

Yes no way Joe knew anything his cocaine snorting son was doing. That guy is a boot strapping go getter. I’m not sure why there is any scrutiny on his entrepreneurial ways in Ukraine or China. If I had a son, he would look like Hunter Biden.

I'm sure he knew what his son was up to at least in a general sense. I'm just not so sure that Joe Biden was personally getting paid. It's hard to imagine when he would have been on their payroll. After leaving office, he went to work at the University of Pennsylvania. I don't think he lobbied professionally. And of course, before that, he was VP for 8 years and a US senator for the previous 36 years. Not sure when he would have found the time to lobby.

But he was on the board of Amtrak!

According to latest testimony on the impeachment inquiry, Senior NSC Adviser on Russia and Eurasia, Fiona Hill testified to Bolton instructing her to go Chief Legal Council of the NSC to inform them of the Trump admins pressure campaign on Biden.

Fiona Hill left the Trump Administration prior to the Zelensky call.

After a testy exchange with Sondland on July 10, according to the Times, Bolton told Hill to alert White House lawyers about the pressure campaign officials were making on Ukraine to conduct an investigation into Biden.

“I am not part of whatever drug deal Rudy and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Bolton told Hill to tell White House lawyers, according to the testimony reported by the Times. That is a reference to Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff.

She also claimed Bolton called Guiliani a "hand grenade" who'd blow them all up.

Next up is George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who is testifying today.

The Washington Post reported Hill had this to say about Sondland.

In a closed-door session that lasted roughly 10 hours, Hill told lawmakers that she confronted Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, about Giuliani’s activities which, she testified, were not coordinated with the officials responsible for carrying out U.S. foreign policy, this person said on the condition of anonymity to disclose details of her deposition.

She reportedly had a direct run in with Sondland who stated Trump had given him direct responsibility for dealing with Ukraine which is not part of the EU thus typically not part of the US Ambassador to EU job responsibilities.

I'm still baffled about Guiliani's role in this saga. Trump's support for Guiliani's efforts in Ukraine was an amateur approach to foreign policy. It was an expert Real Estate investor masquerading as POTUS.

"I know. Is there evidence of that? "
Maybe, maybe not
There is that Ukranian MP who in a press conference said he had documents that showed that in addition to the 50K+ a month the son was receiving from Burisma TheMP Derach has claimed Biden was paid $900,000 to pressure the Ukrainian government not to investigate the business of Burisma.

“I’d like to emphasize — Biden’s fifth visit to Kyiv in December 2015 had the only purpose to get Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin fired because of his probes into Burisma,” said the parliamentarian.
kach has also claimed Hunter Biden received an additional $16.5 million in proceeds of corruption from Burisma. Several probes were launched in 2014 to investigate Zlochevsky’s forced acquisitions of assets and the transfers of money to the Bidens. Each of these inquiries grinded to a halt and were later closed, which Derkach claims happened by request of the U.S. Embassy.

“Prosecutor General Ryaboshapka said he’s auditing all criminal cases into Burisma, alleged U.S. election meddling and other cases of transnational corruption,” said the MP. “I am transferring my findings to the prosecutor’s office for a review.”

Derkach has promised more disclosures on Biden’s activities, saying the documents are now leaking from the highest levels of the Ukrainian government He will be releasing more of his own findings on the former vice president in the coming days."

Derkach may end up being a Ukranian version of Nadler. Time and reveal of the docs he said he has turned over will show which is true.
BUT whether the money went directly into Biden's account the fact that millions came the Biden way because of the influence Joe had as VP.
come on man.

And an equally important question concerning Biden is Rosemont Seneca's dealings with China.
This link from March 2018 shows in pretty clear detail how Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz benefitted from Biden using his position.

I'm interested to hear what Derkach has to say.

OANN's reporting was funny, though. They used Guiliani to confirm Derkach claims and go a significant step forward.

It should be noted that the WSJ is reporting that Guiliani has been under criminal investigation since August, at least, over his activities in Ukraine.

The attorney has confirmed Derkach’s claim that Joe Biden repeatedly pressured the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, who paid Hunter Biden for this protection. He said this racketeering scheme allegedly enriched the Bidens and other Obama-era officials.

This is despicable what the democrats are doing. Behind closed doors they are leaking what they want to be leaked with no complete transcript. They are telling the MSM what they want to hear and the MSM reports it. Absolutely no way to verify any of this.

The Democrats are certainly leaking and doing so to ensure maximum damage.

Notice that no Republicans are disputing the claims or quotes, including those that were in the room.

Way too early to say what the republicans are doing. This was released just last night.

^^^^THIS. Until the all facts are made known and proven by judicial proceeding, and supported by evidence whether tangible or parol, there is nothing here but mere allegations. I reserve my personal judgement of either side until the process is completed.

Next up is George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who is testifying today.

TheHill is reporting the following fro Grorge Kent's testimony going on right now. You can see they reference the NYT as part of their reporting.

Sources told The New York Times that Kent, who oversees Ukraine policy, expressed concern as far back as March about Giuliani's role in a "disinformation" campaign that aimed to smear people including former Vice President Joe Biden and then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.

Kent is believed to have particular insight into Trump's attempts to put pressure on Ukraine, but also has reportedly said he was involved in past efforts to convince the country to investigate corruption. For example, he reportedly pushed prosecutors to probe Mykola Zlochevsky, who owned the energy company where Biden's son Hunter Biden was a board member.

In other news, Guiliani's recent change in personal attorney was short lived. Last week he hired former Watergate prosecutor Jon Sale to represent him in responding Congressional Subpoenas. Today Guiliani responded with a I'm not responding, nanny nanny boo boo dip yourself in doo doo letter. In turn, Sale announced he fulfilled his commitment and no longer represents Rudy. Now might be a good time to get criminal representation, Rudy.

Giuliani had hired former Watergate prosecutor Jon Sale to assist him in responding to the subpoena. Sale told The Hill on Tuesday that he sent a letter to Congress that same day about the subpoena. His work for Giuliani is completed, Sale said, and he is no longer representing him as a result.
