Horns vs WVU

If we lose to this team at home, I'm throwing in the towel on this season. Absolutely ridiculous that we lost the first matchup.

Off to a good start. 39-17 Horns with 7:17 to go in the 1st.

How the hell did they lose to that wvu team on the road. I know most teams are better at home (well not this Texas team) but 40 points better? Oh wait, I forgot who I was talking about. Texas can be 30 points worse on any given game and wvu 10 points better at home. Disregard my initial statement. Carry on.

WV could not defend or rebound. It looked like an exhibition game. Glad to see it though. Hopefully it’s gives the guys some confidence and momentum going forward.

Who is this?
It was Weaver and that still shot doesn’t do justice to how hard he hit the backboard after the dunk. On interesting note, I heard a bit of Craig way’s postgame with Terry and Way asked Terry if he could tell whether the team was energized and ready to play in the warmups or at the very beginning of the game. Terry’s reply was this is a really hard group to read because they are not vocal (which I took to mean he has no idea if the team is showing up or not) and last year there were a couple of guys who were vocal and made sure everyone was ready to go. Probably Carr, Rice, and Allen. What Terry said just confirms to me that this team lacks Alpha dog leaders keeping everyone focused and the intensity up.

Ditto to the comments above. Nice to see a complete game win with no stress.

That said, there are 6 games to end the season with 4 against ranked teams (3 on the road) and the other two against very tough outs in K-State and TCU. If Texas can go 3-3 that might be enough but 4-2 would make it certain. I'm not sure where you find 4 wins over these next six though. Those two losses in January to WVU and UCF just hang over this team. Texas is good enough to be in and win any of those six and inconsistent enough to get blown out in any of those six. All depend son which team shows up.

5-6 in conference

16-8 overall

We're probably on the right side of the bubble right now.
I agree...for now. Let's see where we stand after the Big XII Tourney. We could still be on the right side of the bubble or we could be on the wrong side of dirt. Totally depends on which UT MBB shows up between now & early March.

The non-conference schedule was so weak, I don't think the committee will give much weight to their W-L record. Conference record and the last 10-12 games will be the deciding factors. I think they need to somehow go 2-2 against Houston, Bailor, Sand aggy or Kansas and win the home games.

Yeah. Still a bubble team. Just which side of the bubble.

...and wearing Burnt Orange jerseys with "TEXAS" on the front counts a lot less in Mens Basketball than in most other sports...

If you ever have to say, “It depends on which team shows up,” the chances aren’t really good…

I was hoping for Texas scoring a hundred, but when the refs stopped calling fouls against WVA with about 5 minutes left and Terry started playing the end of the bench, that was not going to happen.

I can't imagine being able to jump that high.
He didn't jump that high. He jumped, yeah, but he did a little pull-up on the rim just before that photo was taken. That's how he got the incredible lift seen here, and how he got his face/forehead smacked by the backboard.

So basically, we have a team with four seed or higher potential/talent with a bubble team mentality. If they do get in, they will be a team that no one fears, but no one will want to play.

I can't even jump high enough to grab the rim...
