Horns vs red raiders

I assure you that Santa went to the Austin jail. And I’ve heard that place is no fun. Even for a mandatory 24 hold.

That chubby copy chasing him was gold. He was trying with all his might but his chunky legs just couldn't catch up. I liked how Santa ran almost all the way down the field and halfway back before anyone realized he shouldn't be there.

That was funny. No way that cop was going to catch him.
Separate topic, does anyone else find it interesting that with all this heat (11 am games) there has not been the typical cramping issues? Of course we haven’t played LSU but still.

Dude got his 15 minutes of fame today. Suspect Santa will return at the next home game, but he won't run on the field! :smile1:

2 weeks in a row that UT could have scored 100+, if Spurrier, Jimmy Johnson or Stoops was our coach- we would have.
I’m glad Sark didn’t.

This Sark fellow you refer to, I think I'm starting to believe he really DOES know what he is doing...

;^)

Now, Coach K needs to get the defense in gear. I think he will.
Well, I think we saw some brakes applied or we score 100.
They scored 21 in garbage time.
Not excusing it but I think it's natural to let up some with that kind of lead.
The task at hand is to keep the intensity up.

I'm concerned. I heard all week on the radio that Techs offensive style is exactly what coach K's defenses are good at defending. It didn't work out so well.
It did at first when Texas built a big lead. After that, who knows? Maybe Coach K was rolling the dice to see what would happen.

After that, who knows?

Halftime adjustments by Tech maybe? You're right we shut them down the entire first half but couldn't do squat to defend in the second. It seems they were trying to run more in the first half, but just slinging it around in the second because they were down so much.

In another thread Sark said the defense lost intensity after the big lead. Not a major problem.

Also the second string QB came in that we hadn't game planned for.
Usually the narrative has been we knock out the starter and the 2nd string QB comes in and kicks our ***.
Their backup is a senior that transferred over with the new coach so he knows the system well.
Maybe he should start. :)
I think that combined with having such a big lead led to scoring that may not have happened if the score was closer.
Not an excuse as we need the intensity to remain high throughout the game.
I feel Coach K will address this in the coming weeks practice.

This ^^^ The offense really could have run it way up. There was ample time to score multiple times. The brakes were applied early in the 4th quarter.

Not really the “defense” failing to work, but Jamison getting beat deep one-on-one two plays in a row for about 150 yards. I suppose coach K could have been trying to teach him a lesson that he can’t cover a quality guy deep by himself?

it’s not like our defense got tired and gave up long drives

On one of those plays the safety obviously wasn’t covering but there was no blitz either from thr LB or safety which gave the QB the time to throw. I am not sure what the point was behind that defensive call.
