Dont do prestige mode. You lose all your guns and perks and start over. If you want a cute little icon next to your name then do it but that's about all you get. I did it once and am now at 48. I've been missing my 50 cal for a couple weeks since I lost it. I'm getting that ***** back tonight though.

Oddly, there's been a rash of team-killers lately.

Sadly, unlike Rainbow6, you can't boot those MF'ers or mute the ******** that are abusing their mics. COD4 would be that much better if these options were included.

It'll be nice when some new maps come out... Even this old dog is starting to figure out the good roosting places on most of the maps, which is a sign that it's time for an update.

I accidentally lied on my M14 post, I actually use double tap as my second perk, makes a huge difference with that single shot of the M14.

As far as total kills, I'm in the top 30K in the world... guy on my buddy list constantly fluctuates between 125-135 worl ranking...

I've been either REALLY bad or REALLY good lately... poor Mendelbaum has to deal with me cursing incoherently after I put an entire clip of 3 rd burst from an M16 w/stopping power into a guy w/o juggernaut and he kills me with 1 shot.

My PS3 keeps dropping my connection and signing me in and out rarely frequently. Any suggestions? Should I just hard wire for better connection?

If you can hardwire, that is definitely the best way to do it. However, i think the hosting system they're using has just been working too hard lately. it sounds like everyone has been having problems, and certain levels (like bog) tend to lag quite a bit.

man, last night was a tale of two players. When i was with danno right after dinner, i was raking. after some beers at the bar? not so good. just frustrating.

I was reading USA Today and they had a listing of the most upcoming anticipated games. There were a couple of PS3 games but I curious how Kill Zone 2 compares to COD4?

Not sure about KZ2 but, Resistance 2 looks completely ALLSOME!!! It may even break my addiction to CoD4...

If you don't already get it, get this month's GameInformer. Even if you have to stand in line at GameStop/EB Games with a bunch of 10-12 year olds, swooning over the skank behind the counter, like I did. They've got a good write-up on Resistance 2, not too mention it's great for seeing everything else that's coming up.

wow, y'all are slacking. not a single one of you was online from 2-6 am to pick off drunk college kids with me. had my highest k/d ratio and kill total once--49/13/24. closing in on that illustrious ratio of 1. right now i'm at .78 (up from .74 to start the night). i dug myself in a right good hole to start things when i first started playing. still need 300+ kills to gain.

wife's out of town tonight, should be happy hunting. right now i feel like walking death however. got the shakes and everything. mmmm, coffee.

Sorry if this has been addressed (I'm not reading the whole thread), but has anyone managed to get the "Fall from 30 feet and Die" challenge? Where can you get 30' up? I noticed a 2 story building on "Backlot" last night that has a ladder going up the outside of the building from the 2nd floor to the roof (right in the middle of the map, near "B" flag). I think this might do the ticket.

I second the notion to always keep you game system hard-wired.

Snives, where were you earlier in the evening? I was playing w/ Poppabob until 7:00 or so, logged back in @ 9:00 and it was like a ghost town...ianb213 looked like he was on but kept flashing in and out that he was on/offline. I ended up hooking up with some D-bags from Jersey and couldn't finish the night any better than .500 on k/d (maintaining the 1.12) and 0fer on won matches.

We're taking the BiL out to dinner this evening but should be home afterward...factoring in FNL and "quality time", I should be on by 10:15 or so...

Tim, I got my 30 foot fall by taking a dive off the tall sniping position in Crash, just walk to where the fence opens by the ladder, press X and watch the ground come to you.

Has anyone been able to get Misery Loves Company challenge yet? I keep trying but end up just running into a dude and getting knifed before the damn thing goes off...it makes for some funny KillCams though...

I am starting to wonder if the PS3/COD4 is at fault for my connection woes... I was having all sorts of problems last night (Danno can attest), but after I switched back to Halo I was fine (other than intermittent lag). Either way, lag in Halo was annoying, but it didn't absolutely cripple me like it did in COD4.

Anyway, Danno and Snives probably noticed last night, but I'm a lot better at straight-up deathmatches than I am at tactical war games. I wasn't too familiar with Hardcore mode, and accordingly got my *** whooped on multiple occasions last night.

K/D is going down slightly, but accuracy is going up. I need to adjust and plan out my classes...

It didn't help that Snives was fraggin us every ten seconds and I was shooting both of y'all every time you came around a corner.

HC definitely takes some getting used to but I've really comes to love it. It was still alot of fun playing with y'all last night.

As for the connection issues, some days are good, some bad. I do think IF's servers are alot of the issue, supposedly, they're going to patch later this month according to the ign boards...of course, they said the same in late December.

Here's a question if anyone else still checks for this thread...

why doesn't every player use "UAV Jammer", especially on Domination maps? It's such a huge advantage to know where the enemy is, and uavs area incredibly common in the game. I know it's not as important during hardcore matches, but unless i'm in a small map like "shipment" and want the quick killing ability of stopping power, why not hide yourself?

every night i play i wind up running behind fools and stabbing them in the back, or standing right next to them and shooting them in the side of the head. it's also MUCH easier to set up shop right by a flag and wait for guys to attempt to take it before popping them.

silenced m16 + claymores + uav jammer + extreme conditioning = death on a big map.

Have checking out the CharlieOscarDelta website, seems to be lots of complainers of the M16, saying it's too powerful. However, being that everyone from the get go has access to this weapon, I think anybody not using it and complaining is clueless.

Having said that, I tweaked one of my classes to M16, deeper penetration/deeper impact with 3 frags and good gawd almighty I'm raking in the kills. I had one of those Mandelbaum 344 point games on Bog the other day. If you aim high and even wiz it by someones earhole, they're going down. Seems like the best defense against it is the .50 cal from a mile away or the P90 close up. Any thoughts?

I have come to loathe the .50 Barrett...I think this game probably has done the weapon a great disservice. It seems harder to aim and less effective that the R700 and even the M40A3 for that matter. The other night I was countersniping on Backlot, had the OpFor sniper in the hairs on the side of his head, two shots later (where the X and cross indicated hits) and the SOB turns and puts a round to my head downing me...TOTAL BS!!! Juggernaut is one thing but that was friggin ridiculous. BTW he was from clan [HWG!] cheatin bastidges...

Anyhow, the only reason I've stopped using the M16 is to work on closing out my AR challenges. I almost always use UAV blocker and dead silence when not playing HC matches.

I've been playing alot more of those lately and have been reeking havoc with the G3 (keep laughing Stro), nothing approaching 300 points but usually averaging 20 kills and even a "3 kills w/ 1 pull of the trigger" special the other night. I do apologize to those on the PSN system whom I messaged a novel about that to...but I had to tell someone...

Anyhow, I'll be on tonight after FNL if anyone is up for it. We had a pretty good time last weekend when there quite a few of us together. We didn't win much, but there's nothing like singing "America F*#K Yeah!" together as you pop folks...until then...Dirka-Dirka!!

I keep trying to play with you guys and it won't connect...

I'm getting better, even though I haven't been playing alot due to having a huge shelf exam to take this Sunday. But once that's over, it's game on.

Today I took a break to play...and ended up playing for a good 2 hrs. I had one of my best rounds ever going 17-5 and dominating. I'm not as far along as you guys, but I unlocked the M60 and got the red dot sight for it. That gun + stopping power + deep impact is pwnage.

I love the last stand perk too. The other day I was bumrushed by 3 guys, knifed 2 of them, and then the 3rd guy shot me and I used my last stand to pop him in the head with my pistol.
