game thread Horns vs Baylor 2023

Ive been a happy fan here since 2003 and a sponsor for when I could afford it many times! I’m done with this site when a “sponsor Deputy” tells me to shut the f**k up because I had an opinion! Sally would hate this sit now. It’s been fun
don't worry about it kbrown.
True, I did disagree with your post also.
Sometimes we all make knee-jerk reactions or our emotions get the best of us. been there.
We did go to someone's house and thoroughly beat them. Many times we have had worse results. Enjoy the win. keep posting.

gbenda sure has improved this season. He is becoming a force. LB play was a concern of mine at the beginning of the season inspite of Ford's great season last year. Didn't know Gbenda is that fast. Hill is doing well for a true freshman. The excellent play of the dline is probably a help to our good LB play. It's all working together.

in the past I have made statements like "I thought Sark was a QB whisperer".
Well I can see Sark's influence on Ewers.
QE has a become a decent game manager much like Mac (or Matt) Jones did when he and Sark were at bama in their championship season.
QE is not throwing dumb interceptions, not any at all. Sometimes he has to take a sack or throw the ball away and that's alright. Cause we got weapons to come back to, WRs and RBs. We converted several long third down conversions against Baylor. So he's making reasonably safe throws for the most part and he makes timely efficient runs. He knows success is not on him to force things or take chances.
A lot of credit goes to the very good o-line with depth to facilitate success.
So Sark is doing his thing as a QB whisperer.

Classy post, I salute you. Let’s use this as an inflection point to take this thread back on track and steer away from TexAgs Aggy antics.

This game is precisely how we should deal with teams with a much lower level of overall talent. In recent past years, we might have struggled, repeatedly shot ourselves in the foot, and eaked out a 3, 4, or 7 point win at the end.

No. Not at all. It's a reference to a factual event involving Baylor baseball players.

It simply was a very good performance by the Horns. The team came well prepared and the coaching staff did a great job. For someone to bad mouth it while not contributing to this site burns me up. And if you can’t afford $5 per month, you probably should be out looking for work versus spending time here talking bad about our football team.

I’m sure Sark is happy with the win, but appeared disappointed in not punching in that last td and getting the false start followed by missing the fg.

Sloppy game. Needed to get Murphy some meaningful snaps. Won’t happen now.
This is an unsatisfying blowout.
I’m surprised that I’m getting grief for this post. Sark himself stresses “Complimentary Football,” defined as proficiency in all three phases of the game: Offense, Defense & Special Teams.

Last night only two of the three were proficient and yes, the D was stellar, and the O, quite proficient. However, ST was an abomination. Two lost fumbles (!!!), one muffed KO, inconsistent punts and a missed FG that was affected but an unblocked rusher.

To me, 38-6 doesn’t excuse the worst ST performance I can remember since Jake Smith was fielding punts.

I’ll take 38-6 over Baylor in Waco, but we have major work to do.

Remember NC State!!!!

well Duke you should have mentioned that the play of the special teams left you unsatisfied with the win. The way you said is like the whole game was unsatisfying. No one including myself was happy with our special team play. However just about everyone is happy with a 32 point win at the opponent's place. You say we have major work to do on ST, I say we just need to catch the ball. On a side note I would like to see us work on punt blocking again in spite of the danger of running into the kicker. We were real close to blocking two punts.
