[Game Thread] GO HORNS!!! BEAT THE CLONES!!!

The next mention of Tom Herman’s name I hear I hope will be associated with either his resignation, or better, his termination.

I thought Sam was excellent today, and his long pasees may have been the best of the season. Purdy missed many long ones. Sam was pretty darn accurate. Some of his throws to Eagles were spot on. He also ran very well. The play calling over the last 4:00 was terrible.
I'm sorry Duke but I'm going to have to disagree. The stats say otherwise. Had Sam completed 69% of his passes it's an easy Texas win. And then getting sacked at the end, the one thing you can't do.

Yes, I do feel horrible for Sam. I can't think of another player that gave his all, always put his body on the line and almost single handedly willed the team to a win many times, but reality is he's not an accurate passer. He is a true Longhorn though.

It's time. We've all been patient. The vast majority of us rode out the unpleasantness from the summer, with the goal of letting Coach TH's on-field performance determine his fate.

Texas is a mediocre team with a mediocre coach. It's time for change.

I'll say it till I'm blue in the face. Sam didn't use his greatest asset when we needed it most. Two chances to pick up 5 yards at the end and he's looking to throw both times. Dicker makes it from 52 or 50.

You seem to have forgotten all the plays Sam did that kept UT winning.
Coaching decisions cost the players the game.
Doesn't excuse missing a 5 yd out or taking a sack. I love Sam but those last 2 possessions he made critical mistakes that kept us from having a legit shot to win. Spin it however you want, 2nd and 3rd down cost us a tie. Simple as that. I'm sure he sees it the same way.

Also, hate to say it but Sam has not played well. He is above 60% completion once in the last 6 games and its a 3-3 record over those games. He misses wide open receivers constantly. He is simply not accurate. You cannot coach accuracy. But you can call plays that help mask your weakness. Texas clearly got outcoached today. ISU found the matchup nightmare with their TE and just pounded it over and over. Stupid fake punt, to the short side no less. Stupid decision to go for it instead of kick the FG. Then a stupid play call with a delay QB power. Gotta get 12 inches, so let's run a delay to let give the D time to get in the backfield. Dumbest MENSA member ever.

You'd think just once we'd run the QB jump pass to the TE. Just once. As many times as we run QB power the entire D is selling out to stop that delayed run. If Sam is similar to Tebow, we sure don't give Sam the same playbook.

If it wasn’t for bad coaching/play calling we wouldn’t have needed those 3 plays.
Honestly it's both players and coaches. But great coaches get great play from their players too. Ingram reaching on 1st and goal from the 1? I mean that's on him. The fact we're not beating TCU by 21 though is on coaching. Bring in Urban and we aren't worried about 1 play costing us the game against TCU. Guarantee that.

Caden looks like someone who doesn't even want to be out there...I don't know how he stays on the field.

Question to Ehlinger whether if Herman got the most out of these players, or if coaching in general is the problem--

"That’s the million dollar question everybody’s trying to figure out the last 10 years."

Pretty much sums up the last 10 years no matter what coach is at the helm and he’s spot on his assessment, I agree 10000%.

That leaves a mark but it is a bullseye.

Actually...its a lot more than 1 million dollars spent, Sam

This^^^^^^
I explained this very thing to my 9 yr old son today when I told him I was getting tired of watching lately and why. Knowing, for your team, the game always hinges on a couple plays is too much for my little heart to bear...

I wish I had the inclination to do research but I don't care enough. I would bet 50%+ of our games since Tommy arrived hinge on a couple of plays. Early on thats expected. In year 4 thats just ****** coaching.
