For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

I have heard people say he's "full of himself"....I don't think that's his problem...I don't think he has any common sense.....like the double birds....(what adult man does that....cameras rolling or NOT!!!!??)
He’s like everyone else in that his weaknesses are his biggest limitation. His immaturity and irresponsible antics that were occasionally there for us all to see were likely a peek at his underlying issues.

HIC,
His mentor Saban is not Woke. Let's give Sark a chance. CDC has a lot on the line here and this will be on him if it doesn't work out. It looks like Sark has been getting his act together the last few years. I am a big believer in second chances.
I was kidding.

Steve Sarkisian on --

-- Sam Ehlinger: "Definitely, there’s a phone call coming. He’s got a personal decision to make. I’ll try to guide him as best I can.

-- how he’s changed in his personal life: “Any time you go through something like I went through and you make the decision to get the personal help you need, it’s a process… When you battle what I battle, you have to work on it every day..... When you've gone through what I've gone through, really in the public eye, I don't want to say you're humbled, but you are. You do the soul-searching, you dig into yourself and you try to be the best version of Steve Sarkisian every day.”

-- the perception of Texas: “What’s wrong? Why isn’t Texas in the College Football Playoff? What’s wrong? Nobody knows because unless you’re in the building, you don’t know.”

-- how his offense should translate to the Big 12 well since it’s worked in the Pac-12, the SEC and the NFL. “When you put it all together, you have to recruit all of the positions… It’s a great system because it’s versatile.”

-- recruiting: "We cannot let the top talent in the state of Texas leave the state of Texas.”

-- what it’s going to take for Texas to be elite again: “We have to be a great developmental staff.”

-- other jobs: “I wanted to make sure when I took a head coaching job that it was the right job… When this opportunity came, then I jumped on it.”

Couple more names of potential assistants from Mike Roach

When he was at Washington and USC he had a stellar record as a recruiter. At Bama, he didn’t have those responsibilities as Nick Saban doesn’t ask his coordinators to do much. I was told that Sark was big in the recruitments of Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe. Obviously most of his connections are out west, but I was also told that he and Quinn Ewers had a strong relationship. Quinn is currently playing and Nick is at his game. We will get some sort of reaction afterward.

I was told the real strength will be the potential staff he could put together. If he were to bring Kyle Flood from Alabama, I think that would be a good start. He’s the OL coach and was huge in landing the Brockermeyers. I was told Bama recruits itself to an extent but the family was impressed with his technical knowledge.

Tosh Lupoi is another name with ties to Sark and I think that’s a home run from a recruiting standpoint. If he can get Jeff Banks to come coach TE/ST you get better on the field and in recruiting.

Two other names I’ve heard with ties to him are UCLA DL coach Johnny Nansen and Oregon safeties coach Keith Heyward. Again, I’ll have more when I can really compose my thoughts but those are some quick hits."

Supposedly Sark has a plan in place and hires will happen quickly

Some of the OC names floating around are: Sumlin, Norm Chow and June Jones

Whittington tweeted something about "better keep Drayton and Coleman"
The Drayton question with regard to Bijan sort of looms large
Of the other Tom assistants, IMO Hutzler is the one who would be worth a look - our LB play and recruiting improved quite a bit over Orlando

Another potential LB hire is Joey McGuire at Baylor. He was a holdover to Aranda and when Ruhle left, the players wanted him to be the HC. He is supposedly willing to leave for Texas

January 12th, the morning should be spent in the Brockermyer’s home and the afternoon/evening in the Ewers’ home talking about who will be on the OL at Texas blocking for Quinn.

On offense, I think Sark is more willing to throw the ball downfield at anytime, which is something that I have been arguing for years. I've always seen this is as simply taking full advantage of the talent gap we work so hard to achieve. What was the point of recruiting so many talented ATHs and WRs if we dont put them to work?

I think most people would agree Sark did a lot to modernize the Alabama offense. He leans on the pro-spread, which is where it all seems to be going, and is constantly looking to take deep shots (like LSU did with Burrow). I concede Herman was also supposed to be a pro spread guy too coming in, but his ultimate goal was an aggressive run game ("impose our will on them") rather than an aggressive downfield passing attack, which is my preference

"potential" names list from Gerry Hamilton
Drayton on it

I look forward to a solid professional staff of the best available assistants, instead of the rush to get your buddies big paydays like the last 2 guys did
Agree, but those three do not reach that level and all do not pass the "enthusiastic" level needed for today's recruits (see Sumlin's recruiting at AZ). (I wasn't sure Chow was still alive.)

Speaking of old names, Mike Stoops' being tossed about too
That might get a bigger reaction than Sumlin
