My apologies to the folks I called idiots for thinking we would fire TH and hire UM.

well, half apologies anyway

On second thought, hiring Sarkesian seems like an.......idea. Sort of. Oh well, if I am still alive in five years here is hoping I am eating crow and admitting I am an idiot.
 
Keep this in mind:

MB was not an earth shattering hire but it worked out pretty well.

And actually DKR was not a sure thing hire either.

However, Herman was a can’t miss, so who knows?

I disagree. Mack took UNC from the depths of historically bad football and turned them into a perennial 10 win team, but he could never beat FSU. He was a proven winner. Sarks best year was 9-4 at USC. The rest was 7-6 seasons at Washington.

That’s true but didn’t Strong have a pretty good resume as well? And with MB, many wanted Barnett.

If it is true that Sark was being groomed to be Saban’s replacement — as more than Klatt have suggested — that’s a pretty solid endorsement.

Regarding the drinking, I would be shocked if there wasn’t an ironclad behavior clause in any contract that will be written.
 
There are 2 aspects of coaching that are highly important:
- Recruiting the best players (TH got very good players until recent de-commits)
- Outcoaching the opponent (TH not good)

If Sark can get the top players to pick Texas over Bama/Ohio St, he should be able to win the B12, that's a huge start. Then compete for CFP.

He certainly should be able to get the O going. Hire the right DC and we should be in better shape than with TH.

I wonder if current staff would be considered bc the D made strides with Ash.

Sarkisian is a pretty weak hire if true. Was driven to drink at USC from the pressure — he ain’t seen nothin yet..bad coaching record.
None of Sabans OC’s had any luck at the head coaching level. This smells of Koran Ferry or dumb mf’ers.

Never understood how Herman was a can't miss when UH lost 3 games his 2nd year. That was a huge red flag to me.

If what we heard was true that TH pissed off Ewers family, then that was his nail in the coffin. To recruit here you have to get the mom's and HS coaches on board with where the program is going. TH could do neither.
