TCU is a fav of mine because I grew up going to most of their home games as a kid in the 60's... but very distant fav to UT.

I'm still plugged into Fort Worth and have several TCU alumns among friends and a couple that are program donors. TCU fans & supporters love him AND are very forgiving.

Patterson is the KING of FW. He likes where he is, the attention and the $$ he is getting. I'm not sure he is inspired enough to leave for more $$$.

Anyway, he is a great coach and I like him, however IMHO he is not the right CEO - HC for UT.

I seriously don't think Patterson will leave his sweet honey pot at TCU. The $ would have to be obscene $$$$ - which he would not be offered at UT IMO.

I know he and CDC go back many years, but I'm hopeful CDC does not seriously consider him to replace TH at UT.

If nothing else they have always had hot co-eds!

Aside from UM is your personal that should fit UT? Not all coaches are elite as Saban, Dabo etc, all basically began as a nobody but rise to the top in time....

I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt while others were picking on you, BUT if you were truly a Longhorn, you would know two things:

1) The buyout money has been in the bank since July/August

2) The higher buyout is the fault of the midget who got outplaced

I have actually always said the same, but your part about CDC triggered in me that those guys know each other well. I don't want Patterson because he's embarrassing, but he can coach. And, with CDC here, who knows, maybe he could be the right guy.

All that said, I agree, he ain't leaving Cowtown.

That settles it. If you don't know who the "midget" is and all the problems he created for The University, then you definitely are NOT a Longhorn.

My point wasn’t that we need or could get Aikman. My point was that all the people who would merit hiring and be worth paying the buyout to get are unavailable. I never mentioned Romo and do not think he’d be good.

Good gosh man, You call Patterson embarrassing after we have Herman? You and I seem to agree on a lot of things but I dont understand that. He may not be pretty but I aint kissin him. I just want him to coach. Too bad we have always looked down our nose at him. Never understood that.

Haha, good point. I just mean embarrassing in his mannerisms on the sideline etc. He's a great coach, no doubt.

He just got a problem a lot of us old folks have. Pants wont stay up because our butt disappeared. Also sweats a little. But at least he aint raisin malcontents and crappin on his University. Can you imagine what he could do with our recruiting?

Just keep dreamin HC. Herman aint goin nowhere. We are stuck with him for at least another year. Thats ok though. I can save some money this next year and have more time to do other things.
