For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

Just my opinion but I think there are only two things rolling around in Meyer’s head regarding a yes or no decision. One is the health factor and two is the air in Texas football and student body right now. Football performance aside the atmosphere at Texas, and maybe just in general for the body of ‘woke’ students, has to be a major consideration. Ha, maybe that relates to the health factor too.

And one more factor I've stated is his ego drive and temptation to succeed in doing what is widely becoming viewed as the "undoable"

Bring in Urban Meyer. He does have enough equity to make players stay for the Eyes. They can transfer if not.
Mandate that any student organization plays/stays/puts horns up for the Eyes or they will be removed from that team or organization.

In summation, The Eyes is bigger than any student, football player, cheerleader or band member. I am deeply disappointed in the current state of affairs, and how they've been handled to this point. I would honestly rather have the football team disbanded than the Eyes and fans not be respected by players. Every alum I know is either angry or apathetic. Many are actively rooting against this team. The football program is at an all-time low. However, I do believe this can be fixed. I hope you rise to the occasion.”​

It is insane to pay football coaches that kind of money. Not that I mind watching rich alums piss away money so they can feel better about themselves. On the other hand, watching them writhe in misery because their team lost to Iowa State at home is a good source of MY favorite passion, schadenfreude.

Gotta disagree Hui ... Urban Meyer will create exponentially more revenue for the school ... the fall out if does not happen will be titanicesque

Totally agree. Besides, I am an unapologetic capitalist and the market (mostly free) has a way of determining the “fair” price.

I wish there was a way to write an incentive laced deal. Something like a base salary of 8 Mil, and massive adders for

a) CC + 2 Mil

b) CFP + 2 Mil

c) Winning it all, + 2 Mil.

That would get him to 14, and everyone is happy.

you can't look at it solely on the basis of cost. In business you look at ROI. What's the cost vs the money that comes in. I do the tech side of the sale and we have business people put the business case together so it's out of my expertise. But cost is irrelevant. What's relevant is the difference in cost vs $$$ coming in. My guess is the ROI of a winning team at Texas vs an extra 8M is huge. Only reason we got the Longhorn Network was because we were winning. That's 30M a year right there.
