In all of college football history, I don't recall a situation where a coach with Meyer's pedigree of success has been available and desirous of working at a particular school. This isn't a once in a century opportunity, it is an unheard of, unprecedented opportunity. To not hire Meyer now is inconceivable, Herman or no.
 
I agree Herman can coach offense, as Kiffen can. But he has personality issues, TH will bounce around a lot. Just like Lane Kiffen.
 
I call BS on the Lane Kiffen story. No way in hell anyone associated with UT wants that clown. That's a MSU story planted to sow discontent at Ol Miss. Total BS.
I'm not convinced we are finished with Herman anyway.

it was from a MSU site. maybe they were just bored, needed something to talk about
 
If there is a chance to get a deal done with Meyer. Game, set, match no need to mention any other names. But if that aint happening. I'm not thrilled with Cristobal, Campbell and Kiffin as our alternates. Shanahan at least played on the 40 acres and brings some success from NFL. I keep hearing that we have lost touch with Tx HS Coaches. Who are 1-2 names that immediately bring us connection and cred with the HS coaches? And don't tell me about that Stephenville coach that's now in ETX.
 
I'm not convinced Herman will be gone either, too much money.
But I hope he is gone.
Meyer is #1, Shanahan is sorta interesting. Alumni, can he recruit?

Cristobal seems to be an ok choice. I'm on the fence. Seems to be a good recruiter
 
I was just thinking about the "eyes of Texas". Will it be a lasting deterrent to excellent recruiting. Is that a factor in recruiting and do other teams use that against us--negative recruiting?
 
Would be nice to get back on the right side of our rivalry game

Bowling Green was 1-1 vs. Toledo
Utah was 2-0 vs. BYU (in his 1st game vs. BYU, Utah held them scoreless for first time in 361 games)
Florida was 16-2 vs. Florida State, Tennessee and Georgia
Ohio State was 7-0 vs. Michigan.
