For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

I’m not sure you can pin the racial strife on Herman. It was going everywhere.

Agreed and good point.

People who are still whining about what Herman said about racism in June are in the category of “the lady doth protest too much, methinks.”
They are ladies clutching their pearls because they were called racists and they need to toughen up.

I don’t care what a coach at UT calls me. I just want him to win. Hell, if he gets more recruits by calling me a racist, I say “go for it!”

Now, if people want to complain about Tom Herman’s win/loss record, then I can see an argument (I won’t necessarily agree, but I think a valid argument can be made)
But I’m tired of thin-skinned people crying about their feelings being hurt 5 months ago.
Especially those who are actually hoping we lose tomorrow.

And yes, we want a coach who bleeds orange and loves all of our tradition. I’m sure that’s why so many want Meyers. We all know he’s been a lifelong Horn and stands at the end of every longhorn game with his horns up singing the Eyes.

He sucks in all categories, on and off the field. Some meaningless bowl wins that have done jack squat for recruiting except bringing in the same tired old entitled *** players that Texas has been plagued with for 15 years or so. *** handed to him regularly by OU and TCU. Thank Gawd Maryland is not in Texas's conference, it would be even worse.

Here's the difference. Unlike how guys like me are treated by the Pumpers around here for expressing our opinions, I won't disparage those of you who feel differently and keep cheering them on. Have at it!

To the disparagers, get a life and a clue.

And Happy Thanksgiving.

and coaches apparently don’t like him either.

I've got a good friend that is a Texas 5A coach. For years he raved about the way Mack treated high school coaches. He developed such a rapport with Mack that he was given coaching assignments in summer camps and player's clinics. Mack ensured that he and his asst coaches had tickets to all home games. That all went away when Mack left. He says Charlie was hard to read, it was like he didn't really know how to act towards HS coaches. But he said there was no doubt with Tom, he made it no secret that he just didn't have time for them. And certainly didn't welcome them into his office unless they had some 5* stud in tow.

Smoking gun....

Herman has done better on the field than any other coach around here in the past 10 years, in wins, bowls, recruiting, etc.
This bar is too low. A win rate of about 65% won’t cut it, and it shouldn’t. If the next HC cannot do better in four years, he should be terminated as well.

Well, I hope you read the rest of what I said. I think he should lose his job, too. I thought I made a balanced post, and it is a fact that Herman is the best we have had in 10 years. Even if he needs to go, I think that a fair discussion would include that our 2020 team would probably go 10-0 against our teams from 2010-2019. That's at least worth mentioning. He may be below the necessary bar, but it's not like the wheels are flying off right now.

Historically we're like 8.45 wins / season (12 game seasons)
Since and including 1984 we're at .655, which is about 7.88 wins / season.

Not much difference and a waste in time of discussion. What matters is Championships, of which we have only 6 Conference championships in the last 36 years!!! IMO that is not Blue Blood!

and this school’s football program has been mediocre more often than not. A few years of greatness under Royal, two under Akers and a string under Mack. All three got thrown under the bus. That is some Blue Blood there.
I'm not sure I would use the term "mediocre", but it is more than fair to say "second tier".

Is second tier better than mediocre?
I pretty much look at them as the same.
If you split into only 4 tiers, then sure. To me, "mediocre" implies middle of the pack. A C or a C+ on little Johnny's report card. We aren't at that level historically, though we have definitely had our poor stretches. We are more of a consistent "B", with occasional "A++" scores thrown in.

So, the SEC championship game has existed 28 years. Alabama has won its conference 8 times. Using the time frame you picked, the last 36 years, Alabama has only 9 conference championships.

I guess they aren’t blue blood enough for you?

Herman has failed to produce on and off the field. Back out wins against crappy teams like Kansas and he is barely better than .500. Add in his dismal performances against OU and TCU to arrive at we need a new coach.

Very true, but unless Suburban has signed on the dotted line it could end up worse. We thought we had to get rid of Mack. Look what happened. Satan nor Big nose ain't coming. Are we damn sure Campbell, Fleck, Napier, etc. can be successful at Texas? There's a lot more politics here than any other place. Yes, we know what we got, but the unknown certainly can be worse.

Pretty impressive. I had absolutely no emotional investment going into this game. That being said, I still lost my **** during the last 3 mins.

At least Campbell knows games are won and lost in the trenches. The Texas OL was pushed around all game and the Texas DL was pushed around all game. Absolutely pathetic Texas can't make a foot on 4th down. Bad play calling too. If you know your OL can't move the DL why not a RPO?

And now we're battling UTSA and UH for 3* OL recruits.
