Ewers Tweet… anyone know sumthin?

My son and I often use the ‘ get your shine box’ phrase often.
With our best mafioso voice. Still get laughs even though our wives have become numb to any Goodfella, Scarface, Godfather references.

“What’s this have to do with the tweet “ from the stay on topic Antifa starts in 3…2..1
This is the first thing that pulled up when I googled it...FWIW...it does say "Urban" so meanings may have evolved unbeknownst to some

I think Ewers screwed himself to some extent.
After the tweet and reading his letter to the fans, it seems he wants to recapture the mystique of being a lifelong Longhorn and playing for his dream school.
Even relaying a story of watching VY in the Championship game when he was two years old and wearing his toddler Longhorn gear.
(I guess he didn't have a photo like Sam)
The thing is, see, you left.
You de-committed.
You took the money and ran to the couch burners up north.
Now you say you're home and it was all just bad decision by a teenager.
Well, we are glad to see you back "home".
But now you are going to have to win.
Not only on the field.
Now you have to win us over.

Well- sark just named Quinn QB1.

I would have bet $10000000 that Card would have been QB1

so much for Orangebloods “inside sources”. They got egg on on their face for that one.

Well, buckle up boys. Our QB hasn’t played a down of meaningful college football and we face Bama in Week 2! Of course, thinking back over the last 12 years - WTH!

I read an AAS article about the decision. Ewers was asked when was the last time he took a full-on hit. He said, “probably in High school”. Yikes.

Ewers will not last the season without being injured. Most freshman don’t by the way.

That’s not what I meant by it. In “Goodfellas” it meant that. Just like in “Stripes”, Lighten up Francis” meant STFU Francis. On message boards it is a joke.

We good.
I wasn't posting that to throw it in your face.
Just want to say "publicly" I know you didn't mean it that way.

...But don't ever compare me to anything aggy again. That's crossing the line...

For me, it is more of a you don’t matter slight that a FU, again obviously always in fun.
Great scene in Goodfellas

Why don't you prognosticate something positive - like, we're gonna win out and capture the Natty!
You're, obviously, good at it. :coolnana:
I will let you know when I see it.

I predicted a close game because I saw our DL shedding blockers last week that I haven’t seen in a long time. I also saw spirited play by the team, which we haven’t seen in a long time either.

Neyor could have been a difference maker today. Texas has had the worse luck. If they persevere, they will break through. Keep the top 5 talent coming. I said last year that I thought Sark and staff are really good coaches. Texas outcoached Bama today.

Card did a pretty good job but still wish he could handle the bright lights a little better. I might be too harsh though.
I think he handled them just fine.
He had to get warmed up after not practicing with the ones all week.
And then gets rolled up on and becomes a stationary, one legged QB.
And he still toughs out a scramble for a first down.
On that last sack Bijon slips and misses his block.
I hope Ewers can make a comeback.
But Card did his part.

Card has not thrown the downfield passes with much accuracy

He overthrew, which is better than under throwing I guess

Whittaker and Griffin on LHN have always said that Card has a tendency to throw long balls off his tippy toes which causes the ball to sail.
