Better to replace a stumbling Card with Ewers then replace a stumbling Ewers with Card.

Been my gut feeling for awhile.OB says that all their inside sources say Card will be named the starter. Ewers hasn’t mastered the offense.
Apparently my sources talked to OB because they told me the same.OB says that all their inside sources say Card will be named the starter. Ewers hasn’t mastered the offense.

Just reading between the lines.

I think Sark is all about starting the player that gives him the best chance to win now.Glad you guys posted to balance out my own conjecture. All this makes sense, too...and could very well be the case.
Heck, what do I know? I just made a case on a thread somewhere yesterday for Card and here I wake up a day later with a case for Ewers.
I was just thinking some things that may weigh on a 2nd year warm seated coach's mind. Too many variables us fans dont know to possibly know. I do know...regardless of what I said about the Ewers case...He better make the decision purely based on who has best confidence and mastery of what is needed right now in this offense at the beginning of this season.
You mean Casey Thompson? Oh wait...I think Sark is all about starting the player that gives him the best chance to win now.
Card won his first game. You mean Casey Thompson? Oh wait...

Yeah...pretty sad when your most effectively and consistently executed package over the last decade is the "18 Wheeler"From what I've seen, neither has Card. Other than Sam, why has this been a problem since Colt McCoy graduated?
Good point on rotation.I certainly thought it would be Card starting.
Well yours has a couple of weeks to get ready.
Sark says he doesn't want to rotate QB's because the quarterback won't get into the flow.
Wonder what Card thinks about that from last year.
Transfer Ewers lands Longhorns' starting QB job
I see Texas gets roughly 24+ ahead in the 4th quarter Card comes in..,,,Good point on rotation.
Part of my thinking was he doesn't want to rotate and wants to go long here...maybe couldn't see Card holding Qb1 all year and Quinn not playing so went this way to hopefully avoid it.
I project we’ll see fans wearing caps with mullets sewn into them at DKR.
Totally agree. He failed his first opportunity to exhibit maturity.I don't know, and I'm not asking anyone in Travis County, but if Ewers "tweet" yesterday was referencing this announcement, I am really pissed off.
Maybe his NIL deal fell through with Mt Olive for a relish endorsement to go along with Bijan’s mustard.Totally agree. He failed his first opportunity to exhibit maturity.
