Elon Musk Stuff

The "me" in that diagram shows why the "right" keeps moving left. They keep accepting people into their camp who really don't agree with them. They should not ally with the new liberals who leave the left. Let them create their own thing. If you let them in your club they make you more left.
There are a lot of people who are far more moderate than John Birch conservative. They are fiscally conservative and want government out of PRIVATE lives but still want to protect minors AND know what a woman is. The right should embrace these voters, not push them away.

:arrow-up: F these ****** orgs (Media Matters) trying to control or shut down free speech.

I’m not saying Twitter/X is a paragon of free speech but I do think Elon is sincere in the effort to get there. And there are a lot of folks getting paid off the status quo, so these things shouldn’t surprise anyone I guess.

So many things are just corrupt beyond recognition anymore.

Media Matters is a fraudulent organisation founded by a fraudulent human being - David Brock. He was a conservative investigative journalist who says his conservative allies screwed him over, so he recanted his previous work, became a leftist, and announced that he preferred the company of men.

I had that figured out 30 years ago, and it's why I left grad school without a Master's degree in biology/ecology.
Every policy position taken by envirowhackos could be achieved by a significant decline in the human population. And yet, they never were brazen enough nor honest enough to acknowledge such. It was sickening then, and it is sickening now.

Huge announcement yesterday.

Has Tesla completely solved autonomous driving, as in Level 5 Autonomy? I don’t think it’s there yet, and so I wonder what this Robotaxi concept will actually be.

I’ve been running the latest version of FSD (Full Self Driving*) v12.3.3, and it is an impressive leap forward from v11, but it’s not Level 5. Maybe they have something amazing in the wings they have not released yet. SpaceX has rockets that can land themselves so if anyone can figure out autonomous vehicles it will be Elon-led Tesla.

* An aspirational name thus far

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) defines 6 levels of driving automation ranging from 0 (fully manual) to 5 (fully autonomous). These levels have been adopted by the U.S. Department of Transportation. (source)

While I doubt I'll ever support the "driverless" car, every trip in Houston traffic moves me a little closer to changing my mind. The true test will come when they test the product in the area around Beltway 8 and Bissonet/Bellaire - DWA

I don't think they'll be error free, but I'm going to bet they'll be safer than the average taxi/Uber driver. But they also may cause traffic to move slower.

One thing Elon has talked about is that there will soon come a point in the development of the driving AI/tech — and we may be there already — where it is safer than the average human driver in terms of frequency of accidents. It doesn’t get tired, drunk, angry, or distracted so those qualities alone move the safety needle significantly.

I'm not pro AI self driving cars in general as a rule, but I am 100% in support of another option for safe rides home or if I'm somewhere without a car to have one pick me up and go across town for drop-off. Maybe with traffic getting awful, I'd be better off letting the car drive me to work to minimize my anxiety and irritation.

Damn, man. Do you have some secret cabal doing profiles on everyone all the time? You know more "origin stories" than Stan Lee.

Lol. No. I just have a long memory when it comes to politics, and when somebody truly sells me out, I never forget. I remember Brock when conservative media figures like Rush Limbaugh were celebrating and touting his work. He was a big hero to the Right back in the '90s and understandably so. He was good at what he did.

And when he recanted everything he had ever done, flip-flopped on every issue on a dime, and started blowing men, it surprised me a bit. How big of a grifter can a guy be? If he was faking his conservatism, then how could he pitch an agenda he didn't believe for so long? If he was faking his "conversion," then what kind of sleazy side deal had he arranged with left wing interests? Of course, we now know where the fraud began with Brock. It was when he decided to get in the sack with the Clintons.
