To "combat budget shortfalls", the taxpayer will no longer give employees of the San Diego Unified School District a yearly salary. Feedback from the taxpayers is said to be mostly positive.

Why don't we just make Ibram X. Kendi the king? If schools are incorporating his **** into their curricula, we'll be at that point soon, because "anti-racism" as the term is defined is inconsistent with liberal democracy and a free society.

More shifting of the language. This time the term is "white supremacy." Link. The term used to mean David Duke and Richard Spencer. Now it basically means any racially disparate outcome in America. The effect is that if you work for a bank that doesn't loan to blacks as often as it loans to whites (regardless of credit, ability to repay, etc.), you're no different from Richard Spencer.
Essentially, we're seeing the term bandied about a lot more often now because white liberals started reading Ta-Nehisi Coates as part of a self-flagellation exercise.

It is a Slate op ed that it is another example of white supremacy to call classical composers by one name, Debussy, Brahms.
The example given was some symphony group whose program included a movement by Beethoven and debuting a piece honoring Breonna Taylor. The composers if the Brennona were listed by their full names which triggered the writer. He was angry that only white classucal composers get to go by one name.

I don't know what the hell happened to Scotland. They are ****** up. It's not just the big government tendency that you normally see with Labour Party strongholds. It's true crackpottery, and it's why the Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) has become so strong there. Total friggin' wingnuts.
Demonization, revenge and seizure is not a progressive society. If this is a transition to a world of love and flowers then I don't see it.

Anyone else read about Trump's executive order outlawing "race and sex" stereotyping? Plans to withhold federal funding for any organization, in government or or private including state universities.
There will be a huge effort to oppose this, so not sure what actually comes to pass. But this is the kind of thing I voted for. Trump is fighting the cultural war. I hate government involvement in things like this. But I have to say threatening to take away money from other government entities is something I can get behind.
