Dumb Political Correctness

I so much would love to see Trump mention about being on Mt. Rushmore some day. Watching libs' heads explode would be hilarious.

Atlanta Braves got screwed over a minor offense a few years ago. Red Sox, Dodgers, and the Yankees can get away with murder and nothing ever happens to them.

Agree 100 percent, and I say that as a lifelong fan of AL teams.

I agree. It's not that I think they're entitled to be in any particular league, but they were moved for a stupid reason. The franchise was created in the NL, and there was no respectable reason to move them. I think they moved them to balance out the move of the Brewers to the NL. And of course, they moved the Brewers to the NL, because Selig didn't want his team having to compete with the Cleveland Indians who were dominant at the time. It tampered with the integrity of the game, and it was woefully short-sighted. The Indians were tough at the time, but the Cardinals and Cubs are much tougher competitors most of the time.

Hell yes. It was a cheap, stupid gimmick.

It is appropriate in tie situations but that's it.

You probably overstate your case a little, but yes, they have gotten screwed.

in general, if it was up to me, I'd get rid of the DH, enforce a real strike zone (shoulders to the knees), raise the pitcher's mound to 1968 levels, require all outfield walls to be green, and go back to 2 divisions with only one playoff series (and a tiebreaker game if necessary to decide the division champions). And interleague play is the dumbest thing the league has ever done. AL players should play NL players twice - in the All Star Game and in the World Series. One other thing, GET RID OF THE UNBALANCED SCHEDULE. When you play 16 games, it's a necessity. When you play 162, it's not. Dump it.

Though I wouldn't enforce it by rules, we should also bring back the 4-man rotation (and therefore 40 starts and 300 innings for the guys at the top of the rotation) and dump the stupid-*** "closer." Your top relief pitcher should come in with the game on the line and lock the game down. He shouldn't come in with nobody on in the 9th inning, face the bottom of the order, and scarf up an easy save. Think Goose Gossage or Rollie Fingers, not Mariano Rivera or Trevor Hoffman. There's nothing wrong with Rivera or Hoffman, but they racked up a ton of cheap saves.

Strongly agree with everything except...

I'd go back to a one series playoff (world series only) if possible. Problem i see is a team(s) that is/ are buried in races would be ravaged at the gate. Already 10 games back by mid June, it would be hard to get butts in seats. Having 2 divisions per league would alleviate some of that

Pitchers aren't built for 300 innings, never were. Can't tell you how many guys i knew or later saw in high school that never saw the bigs b/c of over use. I'd favor a 4 man rotation, but limit pitch counts to 85, or a max of going thru the lineup twice. After reading Bill James in depth on the subject over the years solidified my opinion

Take a look at pitchers like Koufax, Drysdale, McLain etc etc. Peaked at hi usage years then dropped off sharply. Not a good way to use extraordinary talent

Like the Pirates or half the teams are gonna do squat anyway? Lol

Two divisions in each league that play eachother enough times that its obvious who the best teams are. Each division winner plays eachother over 7 games and off to the world series.

You don't play 162 games and not establish the best teams. That's what the season is for.

Good post, I can't argue too much about that. But I grew up with the regular season ending, going straight to the world series. It was must see tv, even for people living in cities w/o a franchise. Divisional playoffs watered it down some

IMO baseball lost some punch after 1968 in regards to post season.

Id be ok with that too honestly although having league championship series before the World Series makes sense if you have two divisions each.

It's just a matter of how old school you want to go. I don't have to go back to the dead ball era, and I don't have to eliminate all playoffs (besides the World Series). However, the more rounds of playoffs you have, the more you diminish the importance of the regulation season, as they've done in the NFL, NHL, and NBA. I'm not a fan of that. At the same time, I don't think having a seven-game league championship series undermines the importance of the regular season much. It's a matter of degree.

A few things are worth noting. First, even back in the day, most pitchers didn't pitch 300 innings. Usually that's something that only the guys at the top of the rotation did, and .

Second, though Bill James has contributed a lot to baseball analysis, it's possible to take sabermetrics too far. These are human beings, not machines, so this stuff isn't an exact science. That's why Billy Beane isn't the best GM in baseball, though he's good. Some days a pitcher can throw 150 pitches. Some days he can't throw 30. It's a day-to-day issue. Accordingly, I wouldn't want an arbitrary pitch count limit.

Take a look at pitchers like Koufax, Drysdale, McLain etc etc. Peaked at hi usage years then dropped off sharply. Not a good way to use extraordinary talent

But you can also look at Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Randy Johnson, Don Sutton, and Steve Carlton who were beasts well into late 30s and even 40s. Obviously, they're outliers, but I don't see much evidence of fewer injuries now that we mollycoddle pitchers.

I also think the massively improved medical care should weigh on the side of heavier workloads. Keep in mind that if Koufax pitched today, he would have had Tommy John surgery and missed 12-18 months rather than the second half of his career. He probably would have retired in the mid-'70s with over 300 wins and might be the all-time strikeout leader today.

Point to anything and a liberal will find a way to complain about it
The first thing they do in the morning is ***** about something, they ***** all day long, they fall asleep bitching, and then they dream of new things to ***** about while asleep

These white socialists sure do like to play act. Making videos in your bed room and going through some slavery skit is largely worthless.

These guys need to do what BLM and real socialists want them to do, give them money, quit their jobs to allow for a minority to get it, give up their house or bedroom. Until then this is just TV.

It was Einstein

Lets show these people what it was really like to be a slave. Lets put them on a boat, take them into the middle of the Atlantic and toss them overboard with a big giant rock to sick them to the bottom of the ocean. Then they will really know what it was like to be a slave.

I am more and more convinced that the white people gene pool needs to be cleansed of the disease of liberalism. Way too many soft people.

I'd say winner winner but there will be more
"The City of Seattle held a training session for white employees called “Interrupting Internalized Racial Superiority and Whiteness.”
Holy CRAP this thread --> City of Seattle's newest training for white city employees ONLY is well ... pretty damn RACIST

"The City of Seattle diversity trainers encourage white employees to "practice self-talk that affirms [their] complicity in racism" and work on "undoing your own whiteness."

One class we know Texanseattle won't be attending.
WHO writes the stuff for the seminar? Are they serious?

If there's a better microcosm than this of how the majority of the social movements going on right now have nothing to do with anyone's life mattering nor with any actual desire to create less racism in the world, I haven't seen it.
