Darrell Scott to Colorado

The negativity toward a choice made by high school kids by supposed fans is one of the things I really dislike about the recruiting process. And this happens at least at every school where I pay attention to the recruiting. Kudos to those of you with the right attitude, even if you're rather harsh on my Buffs.

Put me in the camp that does not wish this kid luck at a fellow Big 12 school. While I wish him no physical harm, I hope Roy Miller, Sergio, and company bury his a$$ in Boulder on 10/4.

Marcus Houston, come on down. The Indepedence Bowl is waiting.

I don't think Orangebloods had any negative effect in this particular situation, but I find the trend of these internet recruiting gurus to be disturbing. Why these guys are allowed to pester recruits around the clock and then profit from selling supposed insider information is beyond me. I guess they are free to do as they like, since they have nothing to do with the NCAA or any particular university, but if I was Mack Brown, I would make it clear to all of those guys that they were not welcome around my program.

You wonder why some of these kids(NOT SCOTT) act like primadonnas and make a big deal in the media about their decisions? They do so because it is encouraged and facilitated by the swarms of middle age men with nothing better to do with their time then hound 17 year old kids about their lunch plans and how that might affect their college choice. I dont subscribe to OB, but apparently as of yesterday morning there was "encouraging" news posted regarding Scott. Why people pay money for this "inside information" to me is laughable...they didnt know where Scott was going until the rest of the country did.

Yes e did not pull a Perilloux, and yes his parents should have input, but NOT the final say. THAT should be up to him alone.

And yes, he needs to tighten his strap down, cuz we will bring SERG, NORTON and MUCK and Muschamp will have them ready for him.

Get ready Cody Johnson and Vondrell Mcgee , you're up!

When was the last time Mack Brown won one of these down-to-the-wire recruiting battles? Chris Simms?

I don't think it did. Compare it to others who love the spotlight. There were going to be cameras and hype no matter what. He is not a glory hound. It may be a hard concept to grasp though.

If anyone puts and elite school and a 2nd tier program on their radar, then they are not choosing the school based on its program alone and are likely leaning to the 2nd tier school, IMO.

But I could give a **** about him now. I don't wish him anything but pain when we play. Just like everybody else.

I hope he has a lousy game against us next fall, but it's not because he didn't sign with Texas -- it's because he'll be playing for our opponent. The same goes for every one of his teammates. The rest of his games? Who cares, unless we have a stake in the outcome.

For those who feel jilted by Scott -- had he picked Texas, would you feel that he jilted Colorado?

Would've been nice. Good luck to him.

He broke no promises, he told no lies, he just took his time. Nothing wrong with that.

These post-commitment threads would be a great way to weed out lunatics on this board -- kind of like the 20/20 child predator stuff. California kid chooses between two out of state schools, and does so in a dignified manner. Perfect bait for the freaks.

So like he's pretty good or something? Is that why some of our fans are acting like little kids regarding this?

I wish the staff would have managed the recruitment of both DS and Chauncey better. Both had family ties to a school, and we get the worst of both situations. It's either we don't get involved earlier enough and it's too late or we show some early love then back off (or we expect a verbal immediately). I know the staff checks every potential recruit's background thoroughly, but we've looked bad on some our misses this year.

I don't want to use Scott as an example, but am wondering if there's anything which could have been done to secure his commitment. I think the staff did everything possible in the last 6 weeks, but felt his decision was already made.

Don't wish any ill-will against DS next year, but I can't wait for Muschamp to lower the BOOM on Colorado next year.

I'm not too surprised but I wish him the best except when it adversely afftects UT of course. As mentioned that is why Coach Mach looks at in state which is probably best. We have lost out on RP, Brantley and now DS. Family has much infuence on where some players play and that is why we obviously stick with Texas players and well we should.

CU's program will never make it back to prominence again.

It was a stupid decision, and I hope we never hear of him or his mother again.

All you have to do is read 1 post the like of "I hope he gets hurt everytime he touches the ball as I did for AD" blah to kind of scare ya. geez, it's just recruiting, don't hope his house burns down.
