Darrell Scott to Colorado

I sure hope that our players are more intelligent and mature than some of our supposed adult "fans" in handling this. I hope they don't make a grudge against a young man who NEVER said anything negative about Texas, NEVER promised to come here and NEVER committed to Texas either.

He handled this right and I hope our players don't ever make any game about one person or player because that is a recipe for failure. I want them hitting everybody hard every game.

And to anybody who compares this with Ryan Perriloux it shows that you have zero clue to what went on with that or this situation. And Brantley as well. No comparison. That young man did it the right way too. Never let us on, never lied. He just wanted to stay closer to home. He realized this and made the move instead of making us hang on till the end.

I don't wish Scott ill will, injury or bad luck. I do think he would get a lot more attention and press as well as a much better career here. I think this will be proved when be play Colorado each and ever time. I think he will realize this too, in time. But it will be too late then.

To anyone who thinks he family should have NOTHING to do with deciding the next 3-4 years of your life has got some priority issue. Good luck DS. With that said.... Sheppard

Also, expect some Colorado fans to come over and boast about this. Who can blame them and their obsession with a superior program? This is massive news to them. They have all of 2 ESPN 150 players to our 9. Very telling.

So ignore them, let them have their moment. Just like in football past, they bleep up for a minute on the radar, have a scandal, then another scandal, then fade away waiting for a bleep in a few years. Congrats Colorado.

As far as a parent having input on where their kid goes? - of course they should. Any parent that cares about their child, is going to want what they perceive as being the best situation for their son, or daughter. Perhaps the mother wanted him to go to CU because she felt that he would be more secure around his Uncle. Input and pressure are two different things. Ultimately it should be the kids decision. I would have loved to have him here in Austin, but now I wish him the best of luck at Colorado - except for when they play Texas.

Sour grapes, unsubstantiated speculation and innuendo make people appear foolish.

Some of you guys need to relax and realize that not everyone wants to go to Texas. I think Scott was honestly considering both programs and in the end decided that Colorado was where he felt most comfortable. He didn't pull a Perriloux, and in my opinion handled the process well considering his position as the top running back in the country. If you guys are seriously pissed at this kid, or hope he fails at Colorado, then you need to re-evaluate your priorities.

Best of luck to Scott. Give him a break-he had a tough decision, and had family pressure on one side.
He did not tool us around like some recruits have in the past, so I have no ill will towards him. We don't get them all, especially the out of state stars.

I'd rather you support us for who we are, not who we are not."

Very disappointing we didn't get Scott, but let's not get too consumed with this that we forget to welcome those that did want to play in Austin. Scott shoud be a damn fine player and the Buffs are lucky to have him.

Texas has done quite well before Scott, and will without him. In case nobody noticed, we've got some very good backs coming in or already on campus. There's a bumper crop of great backs in Texas next year, and we're already in on the best of 'em. This is NOT sunshine-pumping...Scott made an informed decison that Colorado was where he should be.

Good luck to him. He seems like a quality kid as well as a great back. I doubt Texas' defense will concentrate any more on him when we play the Buffs than on any other of their players.

I'm pumped about who we have that DID sign a letter with us. This is a much better class than some thought we'd have this year...it meets some serious needs, and sets the table for us to have a great class next year. That's also no sunshine-pumping...it's fact. Props to Mack for another great class, and good luck to Scott in all of his games, except those against Texas.

Good luck to Darrell at Colorado. I wish him the best. He's a talented kid.

That said, I am focusing my attention on the Junior Days coming up and trying to focus on the guys who are here and want to be Longhorns.

I never cease to be amazed at the sheer nonsense and abject hypocrisy displayed by some in our camp. It would be amusing if it weren't so disturbing.

He very much seems to be a soft spoken young man who was not a camera or microphone hound. He did not seem to like the attention. He is well spoken. He would have been a great addition here but it ain't gonna happen.

The intensity of workouts at the RB position on campus is going to be intense. No more, no less than if Scott came but it is anybody's job to earn and it will be a tough battle. Good luck guys, go earn that spot.
