Darius White

I'm actually kinda impressed with who aggy's got commitments from in the last day or two. I wouldn't say I'm overwhelmed, or underwhelmed, but aggy has at least whelmed me. They're a better grade of player than I'm used to seeing the ags bag.
 
Yeah and he "says" academics are important...if true that should knock out Okie St, Tech, OU, and Bama.

And what about that Malena kid? Sounds like a good pickup, why wasn't Texas in the mix?
 
Why are we going hard after White? IMO Emory Blake is a much better wide receiver prospect and all we could offer him was a grey shirt.

In 2010, 5 * D. White is the #1 WR and #3 overall player in the NATION according to Rivals...

In 2009, 4* E. Blake was the #42 WR in the NATION not in the Rivals Top 100...

I know the recruiting services don't always get it right, but if the staff was only willing to offer Blake a gray shirt and are holding an offer for White as long as they have to, then that tells you everything you need to know.
 
It must be a nice feeling knowing that you're a better judge of talent than Mack Brown, Pete Carroll, Bob Stoops, Nick Saban, etc.
 
We'll see, I am very confident Blake we'll be a beast at Auburn. If White comes here I hope he has a great career but I don't see him being as good as Blake.
 
C'mon down to the good guys in Austin, Darius. You'll be part of a special class that will have the pieces for a National Championship.

I know there's been all this optimism that White's commitment is coming soon, but the fact is, it's not a commitment until he says so.

If White's up in Norman this weekend, there's always a chance he gets turned to the dark side. I think it's not a good sign...maybe he's just making the trip to be making it, but you don't normally spend a weekend in Norman unless you have to, or unless you like strip malls.

I'd like to be more optimistic White eventually opts for the good guys, but it's not a done deal until it's a done deal. Anyone who thinks otherwise is drinking the burnt orange Kool-Aid.
 
White? For sure. Cobbs? Sorta, maybe...Cade McCrary walking on could theoretically affect the remaining receiver offers.
 
Cade affects the numbers in no way.

Cobbs ship hasn't sailed but it's awful close. They are extremely confident with Darius, as they should be, and they are waiting to see if Deandrew White can make some progress in the classroom.

If so, Cobbs offer may expire.
 
Cobbs offer will expire if he lets it expire.

If you have the early offer and don't accept, there's no guarantee that it will still be there if a bunch of other guys pull the trigger and verbal.

That doesn't seem like a good practice to some but I'm sure that when the offers are out the recruits are made aware of the soft deadline that's kind of imposed with their offer.

Cobbs has been a lean to several schools. Texas, USC and Michigan have all drawn favor w/the kid.

I wouldn't have said this a few months ago, but the longer it drags out, the more I feel he ends up at OU.
