Cutoff for championship tickets?

Just got my rejection letter as well. It happens. I'm not happy about this but knew the rules at the start of the season. I could have purchased an option on BCS tickets from an internet site but I didn't. Sucks to be me. I will be out trying to score tickets

I now need tickets if anyone has 1-5 extras.

"Just got the "NO" email. I donate $1500! Says they are notifying all who Donated $1500 AND below. "

Just assuming here, but likely you were cut out because of cumulative donations acting as the tiebreaker.

sounds like not everyone who gives over $1,500 is a sure thing since they will not be letting them know until next week.

Every year at about this time (when I don't get tickets), I ask myself why I give to the Longhorn Foundation. I could stop giving to LF and use the money I save from that to buy scalped tickets. I bet I would end up spending less per year than donating + purchasing tickets through the school.

Above $1500 is NOT a guarantee. This is just the first cut. It is likely that many donors above $1500 will not ultimately get tickets.

The reason for not honoring cumulative giving is obvious...the LF wants to encourage donors to increase their giving levels, not rest on the laurels of past giving.
