CU Cheated?

true, that is not a violation. i will not pretend to understand how frequent or rare it is.

is it a negative thing to point out to a recruit that their skills are badly needed on a team? i have no idea what was said to scott, being as i was not present. but if the buffs pointed out that we have been paper thin at several positions recently, and are in need of difference makers, it is not negative on anyone else but ourselves for allowing barnett to give up recruiting and still coast on by.

honestly, what truly crappy thing could be said for what is going on in austin? i do not see much that can be said and still ring true.

as a buff, i too look forward to this game. 70-3 was an embarassment. i had the distinctive experience of watching both matchups that year. it was the end for barnett.

i am pleased to say that not once since that day have i ever seen my buffs give up, rather, they have struggled to the end. paper thin, they struggled to the end, and came within striking distance several times two years ago. last year was a big improvement. i do see the buffs learning - again - the most basic skills they need to play position. their talent pool has been on the rise, and hawkins is a coach that can get the best out of them.

i do not see hawkins letting up either. last fall, as ou had a significant lead on the buffs, no one gave up. i did not see stoops take out his difference makers, either.

while it would be perhaps foolish of me to call a buff win at this point, i would not rule out the possibility. texas is and has been a strong contender. you raked in a GREAT class, and have an amazing leg up on next year. the texas high school talent pool is looking to be amazing - mack needs to close the borders, in my opinion.

that appears to be the larger issue.

It's been explained to you ad nauseum

negative, pete. the top ten sucky things about austin missed my attention.

having moved to texas, austin strikes me as one of my favorite places to visit. my longhorn neighbors are great people (none quite like you). your campus is impressive. next to my beloved boulder, it could be one of my fave places in the big 12 (much to the chagrin of my sooner husband).

everything involving recruiting violations has been bantered. baselessly, at this point. but not one possibility for a negative comment that might stick with respect to texas.

since you know it all, why not share?

I don't know why we are wasting so much time on this. It's not like the NCAA will do much anyway, unless murder, gambling, prostitution, or illegal drugs are involved. Bottom line -- if there is some merit to these allegations, the NCAA will probably just come out and slap CU on the knuckles, and say "we'd really rather that you not do that again."

If there is any substance to these allegations, then I think it speaks volumes that CU would have to cheat to just run with the big dogs. I really don't think they want to get into a pissing match with our big cigars anyway. Joe Jamail alone could probably buy their university outright. Hmmmm, I kinda like the sound of UT-Boulder.

So we didn't get Scott. Big freakin' deal. Have you seen our 2009 class so far?

If this is just a bunch of BS, it makes us Longhorns look like pimply faced losers on prom night. If its true, then the kid and his family will turn out to be cancers on whatever program they curse with their presence. Instant karma will get him, if he has it coming. We have a great set of backs on the team, comitted to the team, and coming in the '09 class. We just need to continue stomping mudholes in buffalo *** year in and year out.

I doubt anything is true. He seemed like a good kid. Sometimes Moms rule the roost. He seems like he turned out pretty good so it is hard to argue with her. Colorado is very lucky to have him. He gave us a good look. What more can you ask for?

I am looking forward to the game as well. I've this hankering for some baked golden retriever or fried cocker spaniel. And the buff fans seem to raise the most tasty ones!
