Countdown to Football

Ouch. I remember that pic.

I Don't Exist always finds some good ones that nobody else finds.... frankly forgot about that pix.

Dillon is probably still feeling that one today.

Didn't we block like 3 punts in that game and killed Stanford or am I on crack?

We killed Stanford that day, but lost earlier to NC State due to 3 blocked punts.

That Stanford game was early in the season and a day game. The temp on the field was over 100 degrees. Stanford had been practicing in 70's degree weather. They absolutely wilted in the 2nd half.

Charles Hunter (84-88)- Hunter made his debut as a redshirt freshman in the 85 opener against Missouri. He set a new school record for most rushing yards in the first quarter or maybe any quarter and then was replaced by Metcalf and hardly saw the field again that night. He had a big game against Houston with 187yds and wound up with 717 for the year. Then Akers moved him to LB and he only saw the field sparingly if I recall correctly. I'd like to have seen Metcalf as more of a slot guy or line up at different spots on the field and left Hunter at RB but Fred didn't ask me.

Yes he did..........and it showed. Ready Freddy blew two chances at an NC. One in 1977 and again in 1983.

Tommy Nobis, Anthony King, Phil Harris & Hix Green. This photo may be when they were on the Freshman team in 1962.... look how young Nobis looks - he was bigger and looked more mature in photos of him I have seen from the 1963 NC team.

Jamaal Charles, taking the handoff from Colt, in a 22-20 win over NU in Lincoln, Nebraska on 10/21/2006.

And, here's another Chris Gilbert, taking the handoff from James Street in our 36-13 Cotton Bowl victory over Tennessee--January 1, 1969

Now that's just mean and insensitive, VYFan. Some Cornhuckster fan may see this and become offended and want to leave the Big12 Confere--

Brett Robin ^
Hopefully, taken in the humorous spirit you meant:

Brave Sir Robin ran away
(No!)
Bravely ran away away
(I didn't!)
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
(No!)
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
(I didn't!)
And gallantly he chickened out

Bravely taking to his feet
(I never did!)
He beat a very brave retreat
(All lies!)
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin!
(I never!)
