Are you all sure about this vaccine?

Are the prices generally the same for all GPOs? Do independents have a chance to survive?
Do even the huge hospital groups belong?

There is no such thing as "generally the same price" in healthcare and the same holds true for reimbursements. Small organizations will always struggle to be competitive on price.

We have multiple doctors in California wanting jobs with us in Alabama. Problem is they cannot leave the state due to having to quarantine 14 days when the get back. This goes directly against the CDC guidelines which allow for asymptomatic people to wear N-95's. The question is how long can California and New York imprison their citizens before a revolt occurs.

They're closing schools here in the UK, but he says it should be over in February. I'm not holding my breath.

Fuckin' Boris Johnson . . .

Columnist in WSJ says the German and Swedish governments were the best regarding Covid since they simply informed their citizens of the dangers while at the same time limited the lockdowns (I.e., treated them as adults). You are now subject to what folks on this board have been bitching about for months.

Trust me, I got plenty of it too. I homeschooled a kindergartner for 3 months in Germany. I haven't done any leisure travel in over a year because of Covid restrictions. There was plenty of locking down in Germany and in the UK before this.

‘We’re afraid for our lives’: Chicago teachers rejecting return to classrooms

My daughter goes to a private school here in Austin. It has about 1,000 students total; K-12. There are three main buildings for elementary, middle and high school. NOT ONE teacher teaches remotely. All of them do it in the classroom.
Good. Fire their asses. They will have made a choice that thousands of other people have not been given when their businesses closed.

Freaking losers.

I bet not one of your daughter's teachers are members of unions.
Good for them

The balls of the administration and its willingness to fight make a bigger difference than unionization. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is unionized. Deez, Jr. is in school at least for now. That's because though the DoDEA Director and the local military commands care about relations with the union, they don't cave just because the union is pissed.

My company is not "requiring" vaccinations when they are available. But they are saying 75% must be vaccinated before allowing us to not have to wear masks. They appear to be using peer pressure to take care of things because very few want to continue wearing masks.

The herd immunity needle is also moving from infected and vaccinated to just vaccinated. Apparently politics has recently determined that getting the virus no longer contributes to immunity. This whole thing is just dumb.

Yep, absolutely absurd. No one wants to be the one to get shamed in the media and twitter land by saying it is absurd. They all go along.

Thats why I keep my mouth shut at work. The good news for me is I dont think anyone will ask if I got it, but if they do its private as far as I'm concerned.

What is the end game now for lockdowns? No one really believes they actually care about people and hospital beds, do they? Why are they so willing to put so many out of business/work? Dependance on the gubment? Big kickbacks from big pharma and the very big corporations they decry as evil?

I mean, I just don't get it now.

:whiteflag:

As soon as I get a chance to be vaccinated I'm getting vaccinated.

I got mine last week, even though it's mostly untested I decided to take a chance and do it anyway. I'm doing fine FWIW

I take a lot more risks every day than getting a new vaccine anyways. Every day I get into my car is a risk, and I choose to do it anyways.

bystander, good for your daughter. I have friends who have kids in private schools. All meeting in person. There was one 3 day period where one school went virtual because several teachers/students tested positive.

My wife works in child care and has been at the job through the whole thing. One administrator got COVID outside of work. That's it. The children are actually shields for the adults. If a child gets it, they don't spread. If a child gets it, it is from adults. These teachers are hysterical busy bodies.

Who knows? Some governors say until no more corona virus cases. Many don't say anything. Either way that should be disturbing.

I think it boils down to 2 things. 1) Politicians like to wield power. I think this is fun for them. They get to act like they are in control, like they are helping people, like they are delivering wisdom to everyone. Some of it is monkey see, monkey do. They do it because others are, and they don't want to be seen as different. If they are different they will be ridiculed by media. DeSantis opened up and he hasn't benefitted from it. Boehm never locked down SD and she hasn't been rewarded. Maybe they get re-elected because voters are glad about it, but that is delayed reward vs immediate pain.

2) The CDC and state health orgs like Texas DSHS have relationships with the pharmaceutical industry. I heard on an interview that several companies lost tons of money on the H1N1 flu vaccine because once it was available no one wanted it or needed it. If there were no lockdowns or travel restrictions, this would have been completely done by fall of 2020. The lockdowns slowed the spread a bit, though not forever or completely as we are seeing now. But it extended the COVID-19 season into late 2020 and 2021. The vaccine suppliers are making a lot of money. Some of that money will go to experts and officials within the CDC and Texas DSHS. Fauci is living his best life.

That is a completely rational and acceptable decision. Glad you get to make that decision for yourself.

My assessment leads me to not wanting the vaccine. I hope to also enjoy freedom to choose.

Yep. Like I have said, you can't stop or even really slow down a virus. It's absurd to think so. #2 is the reason. It's always about following the money.

Yeah. I posted an article a few weeks ago that pointed to the kind of relationships the pharma industry has to government health orgs. Incestuous is the best word to describe.
