You don't have to make up  stuff.
Health care workers that came to New York to help fight the coronavirus pandemic at its epicenter will have to pay state taxes, according to the governor.

He addressed the issues Tuesday at a news conference. Even if you were not working for any pay in New York, but you were still being paid in your home state. Pay that enabled you to volunteer and put your own health in danger to help New York.

That would make no sense. There is a very viable argument to be made that, while they continued to BE paid, it was NOT for work being done in New York.

I'm still trying to figure out how a guy that occasionally says mean things is worse than any of these democrats. If any RINO or liberal can explain it to me I promise I'm willing to listen.

Is there any support for this beyond what the article cites? The quote in the article doesn't sound to me like Cuomo was addressing this issue. At worst, it sounds like he was blindsided with a question he didn't understand, then gave an answer that isn't clear.

It is generally true that someone who works in another state (NY, or anywhere else that has a state income tax) for longer than a short period owes income taxes in that state. That is true no matter where the salary is paid. But I'd be shocked if New York actually enforces the law and requires tax payments in this circumstance.

Then again, you never know.

As a purely legal matter, you owe taxes to the jurisdiction where you are physically located while doing work. That is true pretty much everywhere.

The question is NOT whether these volunteers owe taxes in New York. They do. The question is whether New York is stupid enough to enforce that. I doubt they will be, but we'll see.

Ok, why would you exempt out of state workers from the tax, but not your own citizens? I would exempt both given the situation.

I have multiple employees who went while volumes were down at their locations. Call them heroes if you want, but it was more greed in that they were making 4-5 times on average what they currently make plus all expenses. In all likelihood, the local clinicians were not getting paid more other than OT.

This is where he addressed it I think, from link
"Even though the state government asked thousands of people to come to New York from out of state to help fight coronavirus, they will have to pay New York state taxes, even on income they might make from their home states that they’re paid while in New York."

These are very obscure sources. Did Fox not even pick this up?

What you quote is the article's interpretation. What Cuomo actually said was:

"We're not in a position to provide any subsidies right now because we have a $13 billion deficit," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. "So there's a lot of good things I'd like to do, and if we get federal funding, we can do, but it would be irresponsible for me to sit here looking at a $13 billion deficit and say I'm gonna spend more money, when I can't even pay the essential services."

They are normally college age Europeans going to college in UK.

Here's the rap on British chicks and European chicks - at least as I see it. Continental Western European chicks tend to be "dolled up" - dressed well, perfectly-done make-up, and well-styled hair. The idea of a chick running to the grocery store in sweatpants, no make-up, and a baseball cap like you see in the US? That's largely not a thing over here. Furthermore, they're in pretty good shape. I don't see a lot of heavier women in continental Europe. If you're in London, you'll see the same thing, whether it's visitors from the continent or British women.

If you're outside of London (even if not in rural areas), the women are different. They're sloppier dressed, less made-up, and the hair is less styled. They also tend to be heavier. They aren't what I'd consider fat and would look pretty thin in most parts of the United States. They're just bigger than continental European women (who would look like friggin' Olive Oyl in the US). I also notice that British women (even those who aren't heavier) tend to have more "ample bosoms" than continental European women.

Eastern European women? It's about location. In a big city like Prague or Budapest, they'll look like Western European women. Outside the big cities, they look like they just got flown in from Mexia.

Deez, there is a saying in that part of Texas that all the pretty girls are born in Mexia.

My wife is a good example of that. Plus Anna Nicole Smith was born and raised there. Maybe she is a bit too "ample" for your tastes, but not ugly.

Fair enough. I could have gone with Waco or the entire state of Oklahoma.

Some possibly but you cant fake a Geordie accent.

I've literally spent time all over the UK. While I dont always find the fashion taste of English girls appealing (over tanned and over eyebrowed) there's no denying there are a plethora of really hot English lasses. And in the north they dress like hookers when they go out so plenty of skin to be seen.

The politicians advocating this economic destruction are all being paid. Lowest unemployment sector right now is government.

F this. Time for a constitutional convention. I’m tired of both parties, the media and universities.

I have no home Wifi tonight (I’m on my celI) I have Xfinity. Nobody answers the phone. All automated. Called the auto draft credit card, we can’t stop your charges until 8 am tomorrow. This after 1 hour on the phone. All blamed to CoronaVirus. We need technology to learn how to work from home?
