Comey and Mueller

....One strong possibility is that a Grand Jury was already impaneled (possibility/probably John Huber's) by this time and this fine group of humans has already testified before that grand jury. If so, they cannot subsequently give testimony to Congress. I dont know that this is the case, but it would explain it. And it's a clear sign this is a criminal probe.

The Huber part of all of this may start becoming more public starting Monday

We havent heard much about what Huber and the other USAs have been doing because, unlike Team Mueller, Team Huber does not leak. Which is a good thing.

Part of it appears to be related to Comey, something he is aware of and which would explain his nervous squirming over the Congressional subpoena.

Comey's unwillingness to testify in private is yet another odd twist.....

What he may be after with this is that -- if his testimony were public -- he could routinely claim, "I like to tell you but unfortunately that is classified."

He cannot use that excuse in refusing to answer questions under oath in a closed door hearing. It looks like he knows he is in real danger of perjury charges, perhaps more.

One conclusion that is certain from the Flynn matter is that someone from inside the Obama admin leaked the contents of Flynn’s intercepted communications to the WAPO/David Ignatius on Jan 12, 2107.
This was a felony.
This felony leak was used to kickstart the "Logan Act" narrative which was pushed by Sally Yates to go after Flynn.

Who was the leaker?

Do any of the lawyers onboard here think Trump broke campaign law with his payoffs to Stormy? If so, will there be any punishment worse than a fine?

I read that Mueller thinks Trump was aware of the meeting in the Trump Tower. If so, the impeachment will come quickly.

Media Conventional Wisdom On Russia Probe Is Uninformed And Idiotic

"Axios promised highly damning and highly detailed evidence in the Mueller probe. What it instead delivered was warmed-over D.C. conventional wisdom, dramatically overwrought and imprecise allegations, and a notable lack of any evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election. A typical beltway reader may come away from the article feeling comforted about where the investigation is headed. But it’s hard to argue that anyone who read all 460 words of VandeHei’s bombshell was any more informed than when he began."

When Peter Strzok "interviewed" Hillary, she had 9 lawyers with her in the room.

When Strzok interviewed Flynn, he had no attorney present And Flynn was not even informed that it was a formal FBI interview.

Here is the timeline on the write-up (302) of the Flynn interview

Jan 24, 2017, FBI agents Peter Strzok and Joe Pientka interviewed Flynn.

Aug 2, 2017, Rosenstein issued new instructions to Mueller.

Aug 16, 2017, ABC News reported Peter Strzok had been fired by Mueller.

Aug 22, 2017, the FBI 302 on Flynn was written.

The Government failed to inform General Flynn that it is illegal to lie to the FBI. #entrapment

If the Govt fails to inform someone within their custody of their legal rights, then any subsequent admission or confession is inadmissible as evidence. Not only that, but any other evidence obtained pursuant to that person's admission/confession would likewise be inadmissible as fruit of the poisonous tree.

Well I think we all learned something here today. Don't talk to Russian spies. And if you do, and the FBI comes knocking, whatever you do, do not lie to the US Government. Unless your attorney is present to remind you not to tell lies to the US Government.

You don't know a lot about the criminal justice process in this country, do you? I also suspect that you've never once been involved in a casual conversation where you were willing to make a general statement or one that you hadn't zealously vetted, pondered, edited, and crafted to ensure that it was 100 percent correct with no possibility of misinterpretation, oversimplification, omission, or mistake.

Correct. I have never had a casual conversation with a Russian spy and then had the Government ask me about that specific conversation. And then lied.

I frankly don't understand where all this hate for law enforcement is rooted.

Me: You can't bring a guy in for questioning in a crime by telling him he doesn't need his lawyer, and we're all on the same side and don't really suspect that you did anything, so don't worry about it. It's deceptive and violates his civil rights.

You: Why do you hate law and order?
